Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you.
About the Role:
Help us protect CrowdStrike and its customers from the most advanced threats!
We are building a new Security Engineering team in Bucharest — and we're looking for a founding Security Engineering Manager to lead it. This is a rare opportunity to shape a team from the ground up: growing our capabilities, establishing a culture of excellence, and building a regional hub that becomes an integral part of CrowdStrike's global IAM organization.
As a Manager in Cybersecurity specializing in IAM – you will play a critical role in ensuring the security of our multi-cloud-native Falcon platform. Identity and Access are foundational to our customers’ trust – and you will be responsible for leading a team that protects this trust. This dynamic, collaborative role will expose you to industry-expert engineers and leaders across the whole Product organization, and give you in-depth experience with our scaled, event-driven, distributed infrastructure.
We believe in "One Team. One Fight." — and our team reflects this. You will be trusted to lead with autonomy, make decisions with confidence, build something that matters, and have your voice heard. We will trust you to get the job done and chase our mission without someone looking over your shoulder.

Build and lead the Romania Security Engineering team — partnering with Talent Acquisition to hire strong engineers, onboard them effectively, and grow their careers
-
Own delivery of IAM features and platform capabilities, driving results aligned to semi-annual and annual program goals
-
Foster a healthy team environment that promotes accountability, debate, disagreement, excellence, and continuous improvement

-
Act as a primary point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders, managing competing priorities, resolving conflicts, and ensuring alignment across teams
-
Partner with the broader Cybersecurity leadership team to define team process, performance standards, and engineering best practices
-
Support incident response and escalations, handling complex challenges and escalating to senior leadership when appropriate
What You'll Need:
-
5+ years of experience in IAM, security engineering, software engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
-
2+ years of direct people management experience, including hiring, performance management, and career development
-
Demonstrated technical depth in IAM — including cloud IAM services (e.g. AWS IAM, Azure Entra, GCP IAM), authentication protocols (e.g. SAML, OIDC, Kerberos), and access provisioning concepts (e.g. zero trust, least privilege, just-in-time access)
-
Proven ability to lead teams through ambiguity and deliver results in a fast-paced, distributed engineering environment
-
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — able to work effectively with engineering leads, product managers, and senior stakeholders
-
Experience driving engineering best practices including documentation quality, code review culture, design standards, and mature procedures
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both engineering and non-engineering audiences
-
Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.
Bonus Points:
-
Experience building or scaling a new team or regional engineering hub

Familiarity with with compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR)
-
Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI) and cloud-native security architectures
