Short Summary:
The Software Test Engineer II is responsible for creating and maintaining automated tests from manual test scripts and test cases, working closely with Engineering teams to ensure product quality and usability.
Responsibilities:
- Provides support to the Quality Engineering teams with high attention to detail in a disciplined agile environment.
- Researches, analyzes, and documents findings.
- Tests complex API, web, and network/infrastructure based applications.
- Creates and maintains automated test cases, executes test suites, reviews and diagnoses reported bugs.
- Designs, develops, maintains, and troubleshoots automated suites of tests through continuous integration.
- Derives testing requirements throughout the development cycle.
- Reproduces, debugs, and isolates problems and verifies fixes.
- Assists in the creation of software artifacts including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Plans test schedules and/or strategies in accordance with project scope and delivery dates.
- Reviews software documentation for technical accuracy and compliance.
- Provides feedback and recommendations to Engineering teams on software usability and functionality.
- Identifies program deviance from standards and suggests modifications.
- Develops and specifies standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.
- Conducts historical analyses of test results.
- Collaborates with colleagues to evaluate or diagnose problems and recommend solutions.
Requirement:
- Strong proficiency in Python/Ruby programming and experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks.
- Solid experience with Git version control and managing Git submodules.
- Hands-on experience with automated test suites within pipelines, specifically using Jenkins and/or GitLab Runners.
- Practical experience with virtualized environments, particularly VMWare ESXi.
- Solid knowledge of Linux, Windows, MacOS operating systems.
- Working knowledge of IP networking concepts and basic firewall configurations.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to new technology/processes.
- Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong team player with the ability to build positive relationships.
