The Role

As we continue to evolve our web platforms and digital capabilities, we're looking for a talented Web Engineer to help shape the future of our technology ecosystem.

This is more than just a React role. You'll be joining a collaborative engineering environment where innovation, scalability, accessibility and customer experience sit at the heart of everything we build.

As a Web Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and delivering sophisticated, scalable web applications and tooling that support regional teams and global clients alike.

Key Responsibilities

Design and build high-quality web applications using React, TypeScript and modern front-end architecture principles.
Help evolve our core web platform and shared engineering capabilities.
Work across technologies including Next.js, Node.js, Express and GraphQL.
Develop accessible, responsive and visually polished experiences aligned to WCAG standards.
Collaborate closely with Product, Design and Engineering teams to translate ideas into scalable solutions.
Mentor engineers and contribute to a strong culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Champion agile ways of working, code quality, peer reviews and continuous delivery practices.
Contribute to architectural decisions, planning sessions and technical strategy discussions.
Use analytics and customer insights to inform engineering and UX decisions.
Support the evolution of cloud-native solutions using AWS and Terraform.

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours

Essential

Strong technical capability combined with curiosity, collaboration and a customer-first mindset.
Strong commercial experience building modern web applications with React.
Deep expertise in TypeScript and modern JavaScript development.
Experience with state management solutions such as Redux and React Context.
Strong understanding of scalable front-end architecture and engineering best practices.
Expertise in modern styling approaches using CSS, SCSS or Less.
Passion for building accessible digital experiences.
Experience delivering enterprise-scale web solutions in fast-paced environments.
Strong knowledge of SOLID principles, design patterns and clean architecture.
Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering communities.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.

Desirable

Experience with headless CMS platforms such as Contentful, Prismic, Sanity or dotCMS.
Experience with multilingual/global websites.
Experience with cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code.
Experience with PCI DSS compliant products.
Experience with emerging technologies including Web 3.0, AI, AR/VR or decentralised technologies.
