Short Summary:
Residential Life and Housing at Saint John’s University invites applications for a part-time Faculty Resident position. Faculty Residents provide pastoral outreach to resident students through teaching, mentorship, and life-skills coaching, grounded in Benedictine values.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with SJU Residential Life and Housing on the selection, mentoring, and supervision of Resident Assistants (RAs).
- Connect with each resident student for ongoing mentorship and assessment of personal and academic development.
- Maintain a visible presence in the residential community to foster relationships and respond to crises.
- Teach residents healthy coping mechanisms and community-building skills.
- Support character development consistent with the Benedictine tradition.
- Promote campus resources for personal, academic, social, and spiritual growth.
- Foster a healthy living environment by supporting community standards.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, retreats, and campus events.
Requirement:
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must live on campus in the assigned community.
- Male required for all-male residence.
- Valid US driver's license.
- Computer proficiency.
- Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
