💡Project Description:
We are looking for a skilled and self-sufficient IBM Integration Specialist at Mid or Senior level to join an international project in the banking and financial services sector.
The project focuses on the development, maintenance and support of an enterprise integration platform used by a major financial organisation in Germany. The environment is based on IBM technologies, including IBM App Connect Enterprise, IBM MQ and IBM Sterling Transformation Extender. ITX is used to support complex data transformation and validation between different systems and data formats.
The role combines production support, integration development, technical troubleshooting and implementation of change requests. Some integrations are deployed in containerised environments, including Kubernetes.
You will work as part of a distributed, international team and collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams and service delivery stakeholders. We are looking for professionals who can work independently, take ownership of their tasks and contribute to the stability and continuous improvement of the integration platform.
📈 Your Responsibilities:
Design, develop and maintain integrations between business systems and enterprise applications.
Create, configure and support message flows using IBM App Connect Enterprise / IBM Message Broker.
Work with IBM MQ, including queues, channels, messages and troubleshooting of message flow issues.
Create and maintain data transformation maps in IBM Sterling Transformation Extender, where applicable.
Integrate systems using different message formats, interfaces and data exchange standards.
Analyse integration errors, logs and messages to identify root causes and implement solutions.
Support changes across development, testing and production environments.
Support integrations deployed in Kubernetes-based environments.
Use Python to create scripts for automation, operational support, testing or monitoring purposes.
Work with DB2 databases and write or analyse SQL queries.
Use GitHub and Jenkins for version control, automation and deployment processes.
Collaborate with technical teams, application owners and service delivery stakeholders.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and integration-related materials.
Participate in requirements analysis, task estimation and change planning.
Support the team in troubleshooting complex technical issues and ensuring platform stability.
Contribute to L3-level technical support and continuous service improvement.
🔑 Key Requirements:
At least 3–4 years of commercial experience in systems integration or IBM integration technologies.
Practical experience with IBM Message Broker or IBM App Connect Enterprise, preferably version ACE 12.
Experience with IBM MQ.
Experience with IBM Sterling Transformation Extender / IBM ITX, preferably version 11.
Working knowledge of Python for scripting and task automation.
Knowledge of SQL and experience working with DB2.
Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
Experience with GitHub and Jenkins.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks from analysis through implementation or handover to support.
Business-fluent English, both written and spoken.
Willingness to travel occasionally to Germany for meetings, workshops or onboarding activities.
Nice to have
Experience integrating systems in the banking or financial services sector.
Practical experience using IBM ITX as a component or plugin within an IBM App Connect Enterprise environment.
Experience supporting production integrations and handling incidents.
