CMCC Position cod. 12854
Full-Stack Web Developer
Deadline: December 2nd, 2026

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Do you build web applications end to end — from a React interface with complex, validated forms to the Node.js services and MongoDB collections behind it — and then take care of getting them online, on a Linux server behind Nginx, with a proper domain and HTTPS certificate? Are you as comfortable fixing a failing CI pipeline as you are sitting down with a colleague to understand what is really behind the bug they reported?
We are looking for a Full-Stack Web Developer to join the CMCC Foundation and to design, develop, deploy and maintain the web applications that support the Foundation’s internal processes and services. The ideal candidate has solid hands-on experience with the modern JavaScript ecosystem — React and Next.js on the front end, Node.js and MongoDB on the back end — and is at ease with Linux, Git, CI/CD pipelines and the day-to-day work of keeping applications published and running. What matters most to us is what you have actually built and shipped: we value demonstrable professional experience over formal qualifications.
Whether it is implementing a new feature requested by an internal office, modelling data so that concurrent writes do not step on each other, configuring DNS records and a reverse proxy to bring a new application online, or isolating the root cause of a problem reported by a user and turning it into a clean fix, your contribution will be key to the quality and reliability of CMCC’s digital services. We are looking for an autonomous, careful and reliable professional, with attention to data quality, a good command of English, and the ability to listen to users and translate their needs into working software.

ROLE
The Full-Stack Web Developer reports to the Head of the IT and is responsible for the development, deployment and maintenance of the Foundation’s web applications across the whole stack: front-end interfaces, back-end services, database and the infrastructure needed to publish and run them. He/she works in close contact with the internal users of the applications — administrative offices, research divisions and management — analysing their requests, isolating problems and translating needs into solutions, with autonomy and attention to data quality.
Given the cross-cutting nature of the Office, the Full-Stack Web Developer is also involved in the integration of the Foundation’s applications with management/ERP systems and automation platforms, and in the progressive adoption of good engineering practices — automated testing, application security, AI-assisted development — within the team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Full-Stack Web Developer will be responsible for:
  • Designing and developing front-end interfaces with modern React (hooks, Context) and Next.js — preferably App Router, Server Components and Server Actions — including complex forms with validation and handling of unsaved changes.
  • Developing back-end services in Node.js with modern JavaScript (ES2020+), exposing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Modelling documents and collections in MongoDB, designing aggregation pipelines and indexes, and handling concurrent writes on the same data.
  • Managing source code in Git with a multi-branch workflow, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) with deployment on Linux servers (PM2).
  • Publishing web applications and test environments: configuring domains and subdomains (DNS A, CNAME and TXT records, TTL), reverse proxy with Nginx and HTTPS certificates (e.g. Let’s Encrypt).
  • Configuring and using AWS services (EC2, Lambda, Cognito) and implementing authentication and authorisation flows based on OAuth2 / OpenID Connect.
  • Analysing requests and issue reports from internal users, isolating the root cause of problems and translating needs into solutions, with autonomy and attention to data quality.
  • Integrating the Foundation’s applications with management/ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and automation platforms (e.g. Make, n8n, Zapier) via REST APIs and webhooks.
  • Contributing to the operational management of the MongoDB instance — backup and restore, monitoring — and to the quality of the code base through automated tests on the application logic.
  • Applying application security best practices (OWASP Top 10), with particular attention to server-side access control and injection prevention.
  • Using AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) in day-to-day work, critically reviewing their output.

REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrable professional experience is the main selection criterion for this position. Candidates are invited to describe concretely, in their CV and/or cover letter, the applications they have built, the stack and infrastructure they have worked with and their role in each project; links to public repositories or portfolios are welcome. A university degree is not required and will be considered a preferential qualification.
  • At least 1 years of professional experience in the development of web applications across the whole stack (front end, back end, database and deployment), gained in companies, research organisations, public bodies or as a freelancer.
  • Solid experience with modern React (hooks, Context, complex forms with validation and handling of unsaved changes) and Next.js, preferably with App Router, Server Components and Server Actions.
  • Very good knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES2020+) and of server-side development with Node.js.
  • Experience with MongoDB: document modelling, aggregation pipelines, indexes and handling of concurrent writes on the same data.
  • Use of Linux from the command line, Git in a multi-branch workflow, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and deployment on servers (PM2).
  • Experience in publishing web applications: configuration of domains and subdomains (DNS A, CNAME and TXT records, TTL), reverse proxy with Nginx and HTTPS certificates (e.g. Let’s Encrypt), to make applications and test environments reachable online.
  • Basic knowledge of AWS (EC2, Lambda, Cognito) and of the OAuth2 / OpenID Connect protocols.
  • Ability to analyse issue reports from internal users, isolate the cause of a problem and translate needs into solutions, with autonomy and attention to data quality.
  • Use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot), with the ability to critically review their output.
  • Good knowledge of Italian and English, written and spoken, in order to interact with internal users and to work with technical documentation.

The following will be considered preferential qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related subjects.
  • Integration between systems via REST APIs and webhooks, with management/ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and automation platforms (e.g. Make, n8n, Zapier).
  • MongoDB administration: backup and restore, monitoring and operational management of an instance.
  • Writing automated unit tests on the application logic.
  • Practical knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, in particular server-side access control and injection prevention.

DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally.
  • The Full-Stack Web Developer will be based in Lecce (CMCC HQ).
  • The contract offered for this position will be initially a 1-year contract, with the possibility of renewal.
  • The National Collective Labour Agreement for the Tertiary, Distribution and Services Sector (Confcommercio) shall apply to the contract.
  • The gross annual salary range for this position is 25,000–35,000 Euros. The salary offered within the range will be determined based on years of relevant experience, level of seniority, specific technical skills, applying objective and gender-neutral criteria.
  • Welfare package of 2,000 Euro per year.
  • Flexible working time as per internal policies.
  • Support during the immigration process, if needed.
