IT Project Technical Lead - Vice President

The team:

Project Eirene is helping transform how we manage software currency and vulnerabilities across our technology estate. By increasing automation and adopting modern engineering practices, we’re making releases faster and safer while creating a more sustainable approach to keeping software current.

This role will develop an exceptional understanding of both Project Eirene and any other deliverables or initiatives across various Technology organizations. This person will play a key role in supporting the CIO Central program governance team and tech delivery teams, collaborating with Program and Technology Leads, Application Owners and Remediation Leads.

Role Overview:

Comprehensive understanding of concepts and procedures within both the direct function and the wider Tech / Business areas will be essential.  Extensive negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills are also required in order to ensure that key objectives and program outcomes are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drives a diverse team across multiple time zones, supporting critical programs and deliverables
• Ensures all stakeholders are identified and included in scope definition activities
• Understands the program schedule and key milestones whilst receiving regular updates
• Manages multiple projects at the same time
• Owns project goals leveraging expertise to inspire a sense of shared purpose within the project team
• Organizes new challenges and drive business results
• Uses best practice PMO methodology to create a project plan to fit the stakeholders/customers’ needs and deliver within budget on desired outcomes
• Defines, teaches, and enforces the use of good project management practices such as techniques in resolving complex, interdependent activities into tasks and sub-tasks that are documented, monitored and controlled
• Identifies and where required amends the approach to the context and constraints of each project
• Articulates problems, brings the right people together to solve problems and knows when the problem has been properly addressed and closed

Knowledge/Experience:

• Senior program management experience supporting the delivery of high value projects.
• Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and expectations
• Extensive experience managing broad scale programs across various disciplines.
• Ability to organize and prioritize critical issues and information to facilitate efficient decision making, providing oversight and guidance to team projects of highest priority and importance.
• Ability to develop project plans, manage individual deadlines and goals.
• Knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics.
• Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis.

• Proven ability to solve complex challenges, and have a high ability to remove barriers, understanding internal and external
• Excellent MS Office skills including strong PowerPoint presentation skills.
• Extensive Project Management tools experience.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement sessions.
• Monitor sprint progress and ensure delivery commitments are achieved.
• Excellent follow-up skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task, strong leadership skills, strong team-orientation and interpersonal skills, flexibility and strong analytical skills.
• Strong written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish rapport and build effective relationships across functions, across regions, and across all levels of management.
