Sr. Implementation Manager, MSP
Healthcare’s helping hand.
CHG shook things up in 1979 by inventing the locum tenens staffing model. We connect doctors with patients who need their care. As the largest physician staffing firm in America, our providers treat millions of patients each year.
Our industry is growing and demand is high. This means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to grow and develop in your career. Keeping healthcare healthy can be as fun as it is rewarding
CHG has gone to market with MSP (Managed Service Provider) as a new offering. There are currently two confirmed MSP clients, with additional prospects in active conversation. CHG has dedicated Account Management resources for MSP and needs someone focused specifically on MSP implementations as part of ECS Operations.
The Sr. Implementation Manager, MSP is the operational owner of an MSP client implementation once a contract is signed. This role blends client-facing work, management of internal stakeholders and staffing vendors and project management of specific, named client MSP implementations, and is responsible for ensuring each MSP implementation is executed successfully.
On the client side, this role is the point of contact credible enough to sit with executive-level client stakeholders for implementation purposes, similar to how the Account Manager owns the account relationship for other CHG offerings. This is not an Account Management role; client-facing scope is limited to gathering and executing on MSP and operational-workflow requirements with the client’s Health Care Organization (HCO) stakeholders, not the broader client relationship.
On the internal side, this role functions as a program manager. It is not focused on technology adoption, that is Locumsmart’s role; instead, this role directs internal CHG stakeholders and client stakeholders, on what needs to happen for each implementation and holds them accountable to the project plan.
This role sits within ECS Implementation, reporting to the Manager, ECS Implementation Team, parallel to existing Implementation Managers on the team. Travel is estimated at 25% or more, driven by client request and need. Depending on MSP client volume, this role may not be full-time to start; Operational Strategy project work will be supplemented as capacity allows.
Responsibilities
- Own MSP implementations end to end once a contract is verbally agreed upon with client, coordinating across CHG divisions and Locumsmart leadership through kickoff and ongoing delivery
- Partner with the client to create the implementation project plan and ensure proper execution
- Report on milestones and program progress to stakeholders and executive leadership. Responsible for raising red flags if the implementation is off track or identifying wins to replicate success
- Direct internal stakeholders on what needs to happen for each MSP implementation and hold them accountable to the plan
- Serve as the client point of contact for gathering MSP implementation requirements.
- Responsible for outlining the overall implementation process and gaining buy-in from the client.
- Travel as needed to support client implementations, estimated at 25% or more based on client request and need
- At a program management level, track vendor outreach by Locumsmart to introduce the new program and connect vendors to the MSP AM team
- At a program management level, verify the contracts team has executed Sub-Vendor Agreements (SVAs) with legacy and new staffing agencies for each MSP client, including the sub-vendor tiering strategy and the dispute-resolution protocol for dual-agency provider conflicts
- At a program management level, ensure the AM team has built the Job Requisition Approval Chain and the Candidate Profile Auditing SOP for each client implementation, with support from the Program Team
- At a program management level, verify all client data is appropriately stood up, transferred and ready for go-live
- At a program level, work with Locumsmart team to ensure they drive adoption of the technology
- May meet with the client for a brief period past go-live to ensure a quality implementation and that no adjustments are required. From there, client contacts will be consolidated to the ECS Account Management team and handoff is complete. This role could be engaged again, as the client agrees to new services and offerings.
What Success Looks Like
- Implementation is completed on the mutually agreed timeline with the client, running in parallel with the Locumsmart (VMS) platform track
- All required Sub-Vendor Agreements are executed prior to supplier go-live
- A clean hyper-care handoff to the Account Management team, with no unresolved issues carried into steady-state support
- Client and internal stakeholders report the implementation plan was followed with minimal rework or escalation
Qualifications
- Prior experience in healthcare staffing, locum tenens, or MSP/VMS operations preferred over general technical or SaaS project management background
- Working familiarity with VMS/contingent workforce platforms, ideally Locumsmart
- Basic contract literacy, able to read and operationalize Master Services Agreements and Sub-Vendor Agreements
- Previous implementation and/or program experience is desired. Prior client-facing experience is required.
- Must be able to demonstrate a track record of leading cross-functional initiatives to completion.
- Must be able to demonstrate experience planning and executing projects or programs with specific delivery examples.
Education & Experience
- College degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in program/project management, client implementation, or account management, ideally within healthcare staffing, VMS, or MSP environments
