Overview
To assist System, Control and Instrument Technical Authority in managing Industrial Systems Engineering across Centrica Gas Infrastructure assets including maintenance and support for DCS, ESD, Fire and Gas, BMS, IMAC and PI.
Supports the S, C and I Technical Authority in developing discipline specific activities, managing discipline and operational risks, specific project and technical specifications, developing and managing technical contracts and verifications / audit of technical framework of discipline
Responsible person for management of software changes, cyber security threats, process control networks and windows-based workstations and servers.
Location – Woodland House, Hull – flexible working with a mix of office and home working
Travel – Occasional site visits to coordinate S, C and I activities
Key Accountabilities
- The core requirement of the role is to provide direct Industrial systems support to Centrica Gas Infrastructure assets. This will involve regular travel to onshore terminal and offshore assets and will also require overnight stays on offshore assets. in line with operational priorities
- Will act as administrator for Asset Industrial Technology systems
- Will ensure both software and hardware of Asset Industrial Technology systems are maintained to ensure the required level of reliability and integrity is maintained
- Ensure appropriate standards are maintained and applied to the operational assets as well as any projects to be enacted at the assets
- Ensure the optimum technical solution for modifications / projects are selected, aligning with strategy and ensuring solutions are designed to appropriate standards that meet operational and business requirements
- Support and participate in HS and E improvements initiatives to manage people, legislative and environmental risk. Provide technical input into operational risk management. Participate in root cause analysis to resolve safety and reliability issues.
- Will actively participate in Centrica Management of change process.
- Will actively participate in Centrica Software Modification process
- Ensure enactment and compliance with Centrica S, C and I Engineering strategy and standards.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Experience of Industrial Technology Systems Engineering within the oil and gas or Major accident hazard environment
- Knowledge and experience working on the Emerson DeltaV DCS System, ABB ICSS and GE PAC8000 Safety System is preferred but is not essential. The successful candidate will be assisted, if required, with attaining the appropriate qualifications.
- Knowledge of windows Operating Systems, networking, domains/workgroups and firewalls
- Hold or willing to obtain TUV Functional Safety Certification
- Hold a minimum of HNC level qualification in S, C and I Engineering or Computing and IT
- A self starter, the job holder will operate with broad direction from the S, C and I Technical Authority
- Able to apply HSE principles across technical activities associated with offshore and onshore (COMAH) environments
- Job holder must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate their ability to foster wider relationships within Centrica and wider Oil and Gas industry
