As Director, Digital Marketing Services, you will organize, plan and direct digital activities for Cleveland Clinic. In this role, you will plan and execute digital capabilities to ensure timely and cost-effective implementation, maintain consistent online customer experiences and brand positioning, and ensure digital processes support organizational goals and objectives. You will collaborate with marketing account services, corporate communications, marketing communications, mobile and digital engagement teams to translate marketing objectives into effective digital channel experiences.
This highly visible role directly influences the majority of website traffic at Cleveland Clinic, making it central to organizational success and digital strategy. You will lead the evolution of digital search beyond traditional SEO to include AI search and visibility, positioning Cleveland Clinic at the forefront of emerging search technologies and supporting its continued leadership in AI in healthcare. The position carries significant organizational visibility and impact, requiring a forward-thinking approach to ensure Cleveland Clinic remains at the forefront of industry trends and ahead of competitors.
A caregiver in this role works remotely Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Organize, plan and direct digital activities for Cleveland Clinic.

Manage ClevelandClinic.org and Cleveland Clinic's other public-facing web sites.

Direct the website strategy in support of enterprise business and marketing objectives, as well as day-to-day management of website content and design, and overall user experience.

Include management of digital marketing professionals.

Collaborate with the Content & Creative services teams for writing and design support.

Handle large and complex mission-critical projects for our public-facing web sites.

Oversee the collection and reporting of metrics associated with the programs.

Manage the Cleveland Clinic web site content management system, user experience and discoverability of Cleveland Clinic content.

Lead the management and expansion of Cleveland Clinic's online library of digitized assets, including videos and images.

Provide digital services to support Cleveland Clinic business and marketing initiatives.

Direct the deployment of digital resources - content, design, user experience, project management and programming – against Cleveland Clinic business and marketing initiatives.

Evaluate and prioritize requests, make assignments, monitor performance and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Lead and manage the SEO team comprised of analysts and associates, ensuring alignment with assigned service lines to optimize content effectively for search engines and AI-driven platforms.

Develop and implement innovative SEO strategies to maximize search ranking, brand visibility, and traffic across traditional search engines, including Google, and emerging AI search technologies, including visibility across LLMs.

Monitor SEO performance, analyze website traffic, and identify opportunities for growth and improvement, given that 80–90% of website traffic comes from search.

Push the team to explore and succeed in newer spaces beyond Google, adapting to the evolving digital landscape.

Ensure the SEO strategy serves as a key pillar of the overall digital marketing approach, supporting broader organizational goals.

Provide mentorship and support to analysts and associates, fostering learning agility, curiosity, and adaptability within the team.

Engage with stakeholders to report progress, share insights, and align SEO initiatives with organizational objectives.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Internet/Digital Marketing, Computer Science or related field

Seven years of web-related experience inclusive of three years of managerial and business to consumer marketing experience

Demonstrated ability to effectively organize, plan, direct, manage and maintain an effective web presence
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Working knowledge of web related technologies, current web trends as well as other media development processes and social media marketing initiatives
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Master’s degree

Experience leading SEO team

Proven expertise in SEO and brand visibility

Experience formally managing teams of individual contributors (8+ team members)

Experience with content optimization for both legacy and emerging platforms (Google, AI search, LLMs)

Demonstrated adaptability, learning agility, curiosity, and proven ability to lead teams through changing industry landscapes

Strong interpersonal skills to support diverse teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders
