We are seeking Integration Engineers (SQL Server DBA) who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies to join our team. As an Integration Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One. 

What You’ll Do:

• Serve as a domain expert and advisor on database architecture, infrastructure design, security posture, and overall data management strategy.
• Establish, document, and enforce database operational best practices, change control standards, and process improvements across the DBA team.
• Act as the escalation point for high-severity database incidents, architectural risks, and security vulnerabilities, driving swift resolution and root-cause analysis.
• Upskill and mentor junior and mid-level DBAs to cultivate technical expertise and foster a culture of continuous learning.
• Ensure strict adherence to enterprise risk management, SOX, and PCI compliance requirements and change management frameworks.
• Architect and tune large-scale, mission-critical OLTP database environments to maintain high throughput and low latency.
• Design, deploy, and maintain robust high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions utilizing Always-On Availability Groups, Replication, and continuous recovery strategies.
• Lead end-to-end planning and execution for large-scale database patching, version upgrades, backups, restores, and decommissioning strategies.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 4 years of experience designing and maintaining cross-platform or cloud integrations
• At least 3 years of experience automating system configuration or data workflows

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience with SQL Server database administration, high-volume performance tuning, and database architecture.
• 6+ years of experience configuring and maintaining SQL Server Always-On Availability Groups and transactional replication.
• 6+ years of experience with database security, audit readiness, and compliance frameworks (SOX, PCI).
• 6+ years of experience with enterprise monitoring, alerting, and automated database management platforms.
• 1+ years of experience working in a cloud-based environment (AWS, Azure, GCP)

This role is designated as a hybrid position. You are expected to adhere to Capital One's hybrid policy regarding required on-site presence at your designated office location.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Chicago, IL: $149,800 - $171,000 for Integration Engineer 4 Riverwoods, IL: $149,800 - $171,000 for Integration Engineer 4

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
