Digital Delivery Manager – Energy Advisory | 1898 & Co
The Digital Delivery Manager provides department-wide leadership for digital delivery and innovation across Energy Advisory, connecting business needs, innovators, digital tools, and governance so decentralized innovation can scale intentionally. The role establishes the strategy, standards, coordination, and business discipline needed to make digital efforts connected, scalable, sustainable, and aligned with broader 1898 & Co. and Burns & McDonnell expectations. The Digital Delivery Manager enables and coordinates innovation rather than owning all innovation or serving as a centralized approval gate or development team.
The Digital Delivery Manager will serve as the primary digital delivery focal point for Energy Advisory on a national level. The position will work across Energy Advisory business lines to identify opportunities, connect business needs with appropriate digital capabilities and resources, align efforts, and help ensure successful solutions can scale and be sustained over time. The Digital Delivery Manager will need a strong understanding of the energy industry and consulting environment, coupled with the ability to identify where technology, data, analytics, AI, and automation can improve project delivery, enhance client solutions, and support business growth.
The Digital Delivery Manager reports directly to the Energy Advisory Department Manager and has functional ownership of the department's digital delivery strategy, standards, governance, and expectations. These expectations apply across Energy Advisory. Business leaders retain autonomy to pursue innovation within their areas, with intentional coordination expected to keep efforts visible, connected, and aligned. No employees report to the Digital Delivery Manager solely because of their digital development activity; formal people leadership, staffing, and utilization remain within the existing structure. Material unresolved conflicts are escalated to the Department Manager. The role supports Burns & McDonnell's core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety, and overall outstanding service, as well as the 1898 & Co. transformative traits of tenacious problem solvers, curious seekers, unselfish collaborators, and grit.
