Title: IT Internship - Remote (Summer 2027)
Location: Irving, TX, USA
PURPOSE Gain industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments while supporting Data Science, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Master Data Management initiatives. Work is performed under direct supervision. This internship provides hands-on experience applying data-driven solutions to business challenges through data analysis, reporting, visualization, machine learning, data governance, and emerging AI technologies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists with data analytics, data science, AI, and master data management projects in support of the department. Performs data gathering, cleansing, validation, and organization activities to support business initiatives, special projects, and reporting needs. Conducts data research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable business insights. Supports data analysis and master data management initiatives for Supply Chain and Sales functions. Supports development of business intelligence dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Assists with proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives involving Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Generative AI (GenAI). Writes and executes queries using SQL and may assist with data analysis, AI model development, and reporting using Python or R. Participates in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project reviews. Works with cross-functional teams to support project goals and business objectives. Assists in preparing presentations, reports, and recommendations for business stakeholders. May support data governance, master data management, and enterprise data quality initiatives utilizing platforms such as SAP MDG, Informatica MDM, and Precisely EnterWorks. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a related field Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher. Preferred senior-level student, but will consider other class levels. Exposure to data analytics, SQL, AI/ML concepts, Generative AI, Power BI or Tableau, and programming languages such as Python or R is preferred. Experience or coursework related to data governance, master data management, SAP MDG, Informatica MDM, or Precisely EnterWorks is a plus. COMPETENCIES Strong oral, written, and communication skills. Ability to work well with diverse groups of people. Comfortable talking with and interacting with others. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and Outlook. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret and communicate data-driven insights. Interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Master Data Management, and emerging technologies. Working knowledge of SQL, AI/ML, GenAI, Power BI or Tableau, and Python or R preferred. Familiarity with SAP MDG, Informatica MDM, Precisely EnterWorks, or similar data management platforms preferred. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
