Purpose

Supports land acquisition and infrastructure project activities by serving as a primary point of contact for property owners, tenants, and community stakeholders. This entry-level role focuses on communicating project information, coordinating outreach efforts, and assisting in resolving routine concerns to facilitate smooth right-of-way acquisition and project delivery.


Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction

  • Follow established outreach strategies, policies, and regulatory requirements under supervision.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and responsiveness in all customer and stakeholder interactions.
  • Support team initiatives by contributing to a collaborative and service-oriented environment.

 

At the Operational and Company Level

  • Assist with implementation of public outreach plans for right-of-way acquisition projects.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of communications, outreach activities, and stakeholder interactions.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, public hearings, and community events.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, project requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance communication processes.

 

Do the Work

  • Communicate project scope, timelines, and impacts to property owners and stakeholders via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Respond to routine inquiries and escalate complex concerns to senior staff as needed.
  • Assist in preparing outreach materials, including letters, notices, presentations, and FAQs.
  • Track and document property owner interactions and feedback in project databases or CRM systems.
  • Support right-of-way agents by scheduling meetings and coordinating access for property discussions.
  • Conduct basic follow-ups with stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of project activities.
  • Assist with gathering documentation related to property ownership, contact information, and stakeholder concerns.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Associate’s degree in communications, public relations, business or real estate preferred.
  • Entry level position. Zero to two (0–2) years of experience in customer service, public outreach, real estate, or administrative support a plus.
  • Exposure to infrastructure, utilities, or right-of-way processes is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with CRM systems or project tracking tools preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required depending on project needs.

Salary and eligible variable compensation (if any) commensurate with experience. Range is $21.00-$27.00/hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Physical Demands and Working Environment
  • Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
  • Mobility around an office environment.
  • Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Partially outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.
  • Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
