Business Solutions Engineer

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

BluSky Restoration is a full-service restoration contractor specializing in restoring property damaged by fire, water, and storms. The Business Solutions Engineer researches, designs and drives implementation/adoption of technology solutions that solve operating problems in the field and can be deployed at scale across the national branch network. The role reports to the Vice President of Analytics and Value Creation and sits at the intersection of field operations and enterprise technology.

This role brings direct knowledge of how restoration work is sold, produced, billed, and closed out, and applies it to BluSky's core platforms. The Engineer evaluates every solution against the broader enterprise architecture: how it fits with existing systems, how data moves between them, and whether it can be standardized and scaled. The role works hands-on with the Enterprise Applications, Systems Integration, and Analytics teams to take solutions from concept through deployment and adoption.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Field solution assessment and design

• Identify operational gaps and inefficiencies across the full field workflow, from job intake and dispatch through production, estimating, billing, and closeout.
• Translate field operating needs into solution designs, business requirements, process maps, and data flows that delivery teams can build from.
• Build and test prototypes, workflows, and AI-enabled tools to validate solutions before scaling; assessing each request for reuse across branches, regions, and service lines so solutions are designed for enterprise-wide deployment and continuously improved.
• Evaluate how each solution fits the enterprise architecture, including platform ownership, integration points, and downstream reporting impact.
• Partner with the Lead, Systems Integration and the Enterprise Applications team on integration patterns and data exchange across PSA, Salesforce, Vista, and ADP, applying the technology organization's architecture, data governance, and security standards.
• Document solution designs, decisions, and standard operating procedures so solutions can be supported and maintained by the broader team.

Deployment and adoption

• Serve as the primary technology liaison to field operations leadership, Project Directors, and branch teams
• Lead the rollout of field solutions across branches, including pilot design, training development, change management, and adoption tracking
• Define success measures for each solution with operations leaders and report results against them
• Gather field feedback after deployment and drive iteration and standardization across the branch network
• Support the technology integration of acquired branches by assessing their field workflows and mapping them to BluSky standards

Value Creation

• Support the Value Creation Office (VCO) through technical project and program management of solutions in development and deployment phases
• Maintain updated project plans and data through the VCO reporting platform
• Ensure through proper tracking and reporting that technology solutions are having the expected measurable impact on field productivity

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This role has no direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years in restoration, construction, field services, or a comparable project-driven operating environment, including direct responsibility for job production, project management, or field operations
• Demonstrated record of designing a process, tool, or system improvement that was adopted beyond the individual's own team
• Working knowledge of how enterprise systems connect, including CRM, ERP, payroll, and job management platforms, and how data moves between them
• Advanced, hands-on use of PSA, Salesforce, Vista, or comparable job management, CRM, and ERP platforms
• Ability to translate field workflows into clear business requirements, process maps, and solution designs
• Practical experience applying AI tools, automation, or low-code platforms to solve business problems
• Strong written and verbal communication with both field teams and technical teams
• Ability to drive adoption and change without direct authority

Preferred

• Restoration industry experience, including mitigation, reconstruction, and insurance carrier programs
• Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, or other low-code and reporting tools
• Integration tools, APIs, or data platforms such as Snowflake
• Multi-branch rollouts or acquisition integrations
• Software engineering, business analysis, or process improvement training or certification (for example TOGAF, CBAP, or Lean Six Sigma)
• High-growth, acquisitive, private equity-backed environment

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
