Central Planning Transportation Analyst

The Central Planning Transportation Analyst develops and executes transportation plans that drive efficient inventory movement across Best Buy’s distribution network and stores. Leveraging transportation planning, analytics, and BlueYonder TMS expertise, this role optimizes network performance, supports daily operations, and drives continuous improvement. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, accountability, communication, problem-solving, and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule:

• Regular schedule begins at 1:30 AM Central Time.
• Rotating weekend and holiday coverage required.
• Additional coverage required during peak season (October-December).

What you’ll do 

• Create and execute daily transportation plans. 

• Monitor planning exceptions and take corrective action when necessary. 

• Make planning decisions and recommendations that balance service, cost, and operational efficiency. 

• Analyze transportation performance and identify opportunities for improvement. 

• Recommend process and/or configuration improvements to drive efficiency. 

• Partner with technology and support teams to troubleshoot system issues. 

• Work with the Supply Chain teams to support operational efforts to leverage TMS to drive benefits and enable enterprise efficiency and effectiveness.  

• Follow appropriate escalation processes to resolve critical business-dependent system outages quickly and effectively. 

• Use knowledge and insights to improve operational processes and practices. 

• Leverage data to make recommendations and improve business practices. 

• Communicate effectively with cross-functional partners through written, verbal, and visual communication methods. 
   

Basic qualifications 

• 1 year of experience in supply chain, transportation, or related operational fields 

• Basic data analysis experience 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving team environment and across functional groups 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 

Preferred qualifications 

• 2+ years supporting transportation management systems, supply chain applications, data analysis, or related operational systems. 

• 2+ years’ experience analyzing transportation, logistics, or supply chain data to identify trends, resolve operational issues, and drive process improvements. 

• Experience with BlueYonder Transportation Management System (TMS) 

• Familiarity with SQL for querying, troubleshooting, and data analysis.   

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis.
