Job Description

At BMG, our people and our technology drive our success. We are looking for a Lead Technical Product Manager (f/m/d) to help shape and scale the digital backbone of our global operations from our headquarters in Berlin. The position is a fixed-term position until 31 December 2027.

In this role, you will combine strategic product thinking with a solid understanding of technical systems and architecture. You will own the roadmap and continuous improvement of BMG’s core technical platforms, including products that support royalty processing, client portals, and catalogue management. At the same time, you will lead and support a team of product professionals, ensuring alignment between business priorities, product strategy, and engineering delivery.

Your responsibilities

• Own the roadmap and strategic direction for key internal and external technical products.
• Prioritize initiatives based on business impact, user value, technical feasibility, and ROI.
• Lead, coach, and develop Product Owners and product specialists.
• Partner closely with engineering and business stakeholders to ensure strong alignment and effective delivery.
• Balance new feature development with technical debt reduction and long-term platform health.
• Act as a key link between business teams, product, and engineering, translating needs into practical product solutions.

Qualifications

We are looking for a collaborative, analytical, and confident product leader who thrives in complex and fast-moving environments.

You bring:

• Proven experience leading and developing product teams, ideally in international and diverse settings.
• A strong background in complex, integrated, and data-driven software ecosystems.
• Solid technical understanding and hands-on experience working with software engineers, APIs, and system architectures.
• Experience evaluating business cases, defining KPIs, and making prioritization decisions based on value and feasibility.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to align different interests and drive decisions.
• Fluency in professional English; German is a strong plus.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as technology, business, economics, or similar.
• Experience in the music industry is welcome, but not required. What matters most is your ability to quickly understand complex environments and drive meaningful product outcomes.
