People and Delivery Lead (m/w/d)

As part of the Bilthouse Group, we're building a SaaS CRM platform that empowers mortgage brokers to manage client relationships, applications and the entire mortgage journey — all in one place.

And we're taking our engineering organization to the next level.

We're moving towards a new operating model built around two value streams — Customer & Advisor and Mortgages. Each stream will take end-to-end ownership of its roadmap, delivery and releases, enabling teams to move faster, make better decisions and deliver meaningful impact.

The Role

We're looking for a People & Delivery Lead to take on people leadership and delivery responsibility for one of our value streams, consisting of three to four product teams.

You'll combine people management, coaching and delivery excellence to build high-performing, autonomous teams. You'll support individual growth, strengthen collaboration and enable reliable delivery. While our Principal Engineers, Staff Engineers and Tech Leads own the technical and architectural direction, you'll focus on empowering people and teams to do their best work.

This newly established role offers the opportunity to actively shape how our engineering organization collaborates, grows and delivers value.

• Lead and develop people: Take direct people-management responsibility for developers, Tech Leads and Staff Engineers, supporting performance, growth and career development.
• Drive delivery excellence: Own delivery reliability and continuously improve collaboration, workflows and delivery practices.
• Empower autonomous teams: Foster trust, ownership and continuous improvement, helping teams become increasingly independent.
• Shape shared goals: Co-own your value stream's OKRs with the Product Manager, aligning teams around common objectives.
• Enable effective collaboration: Facilitate retrospectives, planning sessions and other team rituals to strengthen teamwork and continuous learning.
• Contribute to strategic decisions: Join the Value Stream Leadership Team alongside the Product Manager and Staff Engineer(s), helping steer priorities, delivery, architecture and quality.
• Strengthen cross-stream alignment: Partner with the other People & Delivery Lead on planning, shared Flow and DORA metrics, incident-management practices with Principal Engineers and embedding OKRs alongside the CPO.
• Drive continuous improvement: Work with the Head of Engineering to establish a shared Definition of Done and improve collaboration across engineering.

• People leadership experience: Several years in engineering or delivery management, including direct people-management responsibility for software developers.
• Multi-team leadership: Experience leading multiple engineering teams or cross-functional team structures.
• A coaching-first mindset: A servant-leadership approach focused on empowering teams, encouraging ownership and supporting individual growth.
• Strong collaboration skills: Confidence partnering with technical leaders while respecting their ownership of architectural decisions.
• Data-driven delivery mindset: Knowledge of agile delivery practices and metrics such as Flow and DORA, using insights to drive improvements.
• Communication and stakeholder management: Strong communication skills and the ability to build alignment across Engineering, Product and leadership.
• Language skills: Fluent English and German proficiency at a minimum C1 level are required, as English is our company language. Applicants must also reside in Germany.

Experience in a scale-up or organizational transformation is an advantage. Familiarity with fintech, mortgage technology or CRM platforms is welcome but not required.
