Foundry Supervisor, Melt
Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Foundry Supervisor in the Melt department to join our team. The Melting Supervisor is in charge of the Melting department. They work on the shop floor and will ensure the production of company products at the highest quality; meeting company performance standards and customer (internal and external) specification and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures; Responsible for supervision of department staff, about 15-20 people; schedule work assignment for all team members; provide specific work instructions to all employees; Routinely review backlog deadlines/requirements and attend weekly production meeting;
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Operate crane
· Inventory count; put in orders for all metals; scan metal inventory
· Complete computer reports; pour reports
· Read and understand Heat Sheets; know what metals should be mix together to create casting
· Inspect equipment before it is use for the day
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that all employees are working in a safe environment as well as ensuring that all follow applicable safety rules and policies. Train, develop, and guide employees. Deal with request from sales, inspection, machine shop, customers.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws to minimize company liability; Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, with the assistance of Human Resources as well as enforcing safety in the workplace.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be computer literate and be able to pay attention to detail and accuracy.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school or equivalent with 7-10 years of supervisory or management experience; Foundry related experience is a plus in this role.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
DESIRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Able to operate a fork lift
