We are looking for a Senior Go Engineer to join a team working on core platform and integration technologies in a cloud-native environment. In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of scalable backend services, focusing on system integrations, data processing, and platform reliability. You will collaborate closely with engineering and architecture teams, helping shape technical solutions and drive high-quality delivery in a modern microservices ecosystem.

This is you

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including delivery in a consulting or contract capacity

• Strong React and TypeScript development experience

• Experience building backend services in Go (at least 1 year) and in Python — production experience in both preferred

• Demonstrated experience integrating third-party REST APIs: API key and OAuth authentication, pagination, rate limiting, retries, idempotency, and error handling

• Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems

• SQL and data modelling experience, including ORM use (SQLAlchemy, Django ORM, Hibernate, or equivalent)

• Working knowledge of containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD

• Comfortable working with AI-assisted development tooling, and able to critically review generated code

Nice-to-have skills:

• FinOps or cloud cost management experience; familiarity with the FOCUS standard

• IT Asset Management or software licensing domain knowledge (FlexNet Manager Suite a plus)

• Cloud billing and usage APIs: AWS Cost and Usage Report, Azure Cost Management, GCP billing export

• LLM provider APIs and usage or analytics endpoints, and token-based billing models

• AWS and Databricks experience

This is your role

• Design and maintain scalable Go-based microservices

• Build and maintain Python connectors and collectors against third-party APIs (AWS, Azure, GCP, LLM providers, and SaaS vendors), handling credential and token management, pagination, rate limits, retries, and partial failure

• Build modern web applications using React and TypeScript

• Build data-dense interfaces: cost and usage dashboards, connector configuration tiles, and admin/setup flows

• Work to the established connector pipeline stages - credential management, connector execution, normalisation, persistence, and presentation - and extend those stages rather than working around them

• Model and persist data with SQL, Python ORMs (SQLAlchemy or similar), and Databricks

• Normalise vendor cost and usage data to the FOCUS FinOps standard, including token- and credit-based AI billing
