Position Summary

AutoRABIT is seeking an exceptional Principal Software Engineer to join our Engineering organization in Prague. This IC-6 role is designed for a highly experienced engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges, accelerating software delivery, and driving innovation across our global Engineering teams.

This is a deeply technical, hands on engineering position. We are looking for an AI forward engineer with extensive Java and enterprise software development experience who enjoys building production software, solving difficult engineering problems, and mentoring other developers.

The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience applying AI technologies and AI assisted engineering practices to improve development productivity, software quality, and product capabilities. They should understand both the opportunities and limitations of AI and be capable of translating emerging technologies into practical engineering solutions.

Working from our Prague office on a hybrid basis, this individual will collaborate closely with local colleagues and global teams across Engineering, Product, Architecture, and Executive Leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership across engineering teams and strategic product initiatives.
• Influence architectural direction while remaining actively engaged in software development.
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high performance enterprise software.
• Partner with Engineering leadership to resolve complex technical and architectural challenges.

AI First Engineering

• Champion effective AI assisted development practices across Engineering.
• Design and implement AI powered capabilities that improve engineering productivity and customer value.
• Evaluate technologies including Large Language Models, AI agents, Retrieval Augmented Generation, and agentic development workflows.
• Apply practical judgment when determining whether AI is appropriate for a technical challenge.
• Mentor engineering teams on AI tools, responsible adoption, and modern software development practices.

Hands On Software Development

• Write, review, test, and maintain high quality production code.
• Lead development of complex features and services from concept through deployment.
• Troubleshoot critical technical and production issues.
• Drive engineering excellence across Java applications, APIs, microservices, and cloud native platforms.
• Establish technical standards and development practices that improve software quality and maintainability.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Identify technical debt and drive platform modernization.
• Improve performance, scalability, reliability, and developer productivity.
• Advocate for automation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
• Prototype emerging technologies and validate approaches that strengthen the AutoRABIT platform.

Collaboration & Mentorship

• Mentor senior engineers and emerging technical leaders.
• Collaborate with local and global teams across Product Management, Architecture, Security, and DevOps.
• Share technical knowledge and promote consistent engineering practices across locations.
• Translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions for technical and business stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, and execution.
• Responsibility to adhere to set internal controls.

Required Skills & Experience

• 15+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering enterprise scale applications.
• Expert level proficiency in Java, distributed systems, and modern enterprise software development.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, cloud native applications, and enterprise architecture.
• Demonstrated experience using AI assisted development tools within production engineering workflows.
• Experience building AI powered software capabilities or developer productivity solutions.
• Familiarity with Large Language Models, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or comparable AI technologies.
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including cloud architecture and AI integration capabilities.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, Kubernetes, containers, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience developing enterprise SaaS applications, preferably within the Salesforce ecosystem.
• Strong technical problem solving skills and experience resolving complex production challenges.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring senior engineers and influencing technical direction across teams.
• Contributions to open source projects, technical publications, patents, or other evidence of technical leadership.
• Excellent English communication skills and experience collaborating across international engineering teams.
• Ability to work regularly from AutoRABIT's Prague office as part of a hybrid working arrangement.

Compensation

Compensation commensurate with experience.
