Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Our client is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to build and deploy technical solutions for enterprise customers across media, entertainment, and other industries.

This is a hands-on engineering role combining software development, solution architecture, and direct customer engagement. You will write production-grade code, integrate AI and data pipelines, and develop custom workflows within client environments. You will also work closely with the core product and engineering teams to turn recurring customer needs into scalable platform capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a strong backend or full-stack engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working directly with customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead technical integrations and develop custom workflows for enterprise platform deployments.
• Write production-grade code using technologies such as Go, Python, .NET, and React.
• Partner with client technical leaders, solutions architects, and internal teams to design secure and scalable cloud and hybrid environments.
• Build and integrate AI and data pipelines supporting computer vision, metadata extraction, natural language processing, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and automated video workflows.
• Deploy and maintain solutions across customer cloud environments, hybrid networks, and air-gapped infrastructure.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to support reliable deployments.
• Identify recurring customer needs and work with core engineering to turn custom solutions into reusable platform features and services.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to improve the product roadmap based on deployment experience and customer feedback.
• Own technical delivery for enterprise accounts from post-sale design through launch and ongoing scaling.
• Communicate architecture decisions, security requirements, and project progress to customer stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5–8 years of full-stack or backend software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing engineering, forward deployed engineering, or senior systems integration role.
• Strong hands-on production programming experience in Go, Python, or .NET.
• Experience building or customizing web interfaces using React and micro-frontend architecture.
• Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, and search technologies such as Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure, microservices, container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.
• Strong problem-solving and system design skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customer technical teams and senior stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in media and entertainment technology, digital or media asset management, streaming platforms, or broadcast automation.
• Experience deploying or tuning AI/ML models, large language model pipelines, or media processing tools in production.
• Familiarity with video encoding and transcoding technologies, such as FFmpeg, H.264, and HEVC, or content delivery networks.

LOCATION: San Francisco Bay Area, California. Hybrid position with local client onsite meetings.

TRAVEL: Up to 20–30% travel as required for customer engagements.
