Title: Global Wide Area Network Engineer
Location: Pittsburgh, PA, United States
In this role, you will:
- Design and implementation of core to edge network architecture and routing protocols - Operational Support of Data Network including troubleshooting routing and switching issues.
- Operational Support of SD WAN infrastructure.
- LAN/WAN Responsibilities including IP address management and documentation - Engineering for growth and sustainability of the network.
- Education and training of other individuals within the company regarding network routing.
- Engineering and support of other systems supported by the Data Network Organization.
- Analysis for root cause determination of issues including recommendations for improvements.
- Working directly with equipment vendors - Maintain and configure WAN for optimum efficiency; collect and analyze WAN performance statistics; make recommendations to the Network Team.
- Document troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures for hardware and network problems; assist in establishing system configuration database and documentation for the WAN hardware and cabling plant.
- Resolve all customer communication problems and coordinate activities until complete - Customer follow up: monitoring implementations, making suggestions for improvement.
- Using the preferred list of products and services used in Arconic, directing and influencing product and service choices in such a way that this preferred list is adhered to.
- Staying current with Arconic business needs and data, voice & video products and services so that new data, voice & video products and services are brought into Arconic at the correct time.
- Monitoring the technologies and the industry on an ongoing basis.
- Effectively engaging Level 1 (customer contact), Level 2 (initial troubleshooting and resolution), and Level 3 (project/design work) support to assist the customer.
- Major customers – Business Unit and Resource Unit customers, plant and Business Unit IT customers, suppliers of products and services, work team, peers, manager and other relevant personnel in the organization.
