Middle Wi-Fi Certification Quality Engineer, Wireless Technologies & Ecosystems - Jobs - Careers at Apple
- Execute Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) Certification Program testing (Wi-Fi PHY/MAC, Security, and Application programs) on iOS, watchOS, and other Apple products, and support certification submissions.
- Develop a deep understanding of WFA Certification Program test plans, and execute certification tests based on ratified test plans. Provide feedback and report issues to WFA task groups and the CMG to improve the test plans.
- Build and maintain up-to-date certification test setups and test beds, including test-bed APs, STAs, sniffers, and other test-bed devices.
- Analyze Wi-Fi, system, and packet-capture logs, and work with firmware, driver, and system teams to isolate, root-cause, and resolve interoperability and certification failures.
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and suites for certification and regression testing, including AI-assisted automation where it helps. This covers device configuration, result analysis, and reporting.
- Participate in field interoperability test events with ecosystem partners, and follow up on the results.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- You have 3+ years of experience with 802.11/Wi-Fi protocols, including packet-level analysis
- You have 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance (SQA) methodologies and practices
- You have experience developing test strategies and test plans, and executing them through automated or manual testing
- You have experience applying AI to automation or testing workflows, and solving real-world problems
- Experience with Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) Certification Programs, including building and maintaining test setups or test beds
- Experience using tools such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth packet sniffers and network protocol analyzers to debug issues, identify root causes, and provide findings to engineering teams
- Collaborative, and comfortable working with cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on the smallest details that matter to our customers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document reproduction steps, logs, performance data, and root-cause findings
