In Places, we don’t sit back and let things happen, we make things happen, and we do this in service to all Apple employees and customers. Our team is a diverse and nimble group that manages Apple’s retail stores, workplaces, and workplace services. We develop and manage Apple’s global real estate portfolio, lead all related capital construction projects, provide outstanding facilities and site services, develop and lead sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of all Apple facilities, including commute and renewable energy programs, and do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of all Apple personnel, facilities, and customers in our facilities around the world. As part of our Places Construction team, you’ll play a significant role in transforming spaces into functional corporate offices, labs and specialty environments. We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Network Infrastructure Project Manager to partner with our cross functional Places teams and our IS&T organization. This role requires a unique blend of skills—the ability to implement critical network planning and implementation with meticulous attention to detail, deep technical expertise, and strong project management discipline. As part of our Places Construction team, you will be a part of our IT project manager team responsible for the day-to-day execution and delivery of low voltage construction projects across corporate offices, labs, and specialty environments. This role requires a strong blend of technical knowledge, project management discipline, and the ability to serve as a trusted liaison between construction PMs, IS&T partners, and executive/VIP stakeholders. You will ensure that Apple IT design standards are consistently applied while accommodating bespoke network configurations based on project needs.
In this role, you will be a part of an IT PM team tasked with delivering exceptional results in a fiscally responsible manner. You will work on projects across IT construction across multiple concurrent sites, with a focus on structured cabling, DAS, and BAS systems. The ideal candidate is a clear communicator who can translate low voltage technical scope into non-technical updates and navigate competing schedule priorities. You will work closely with subcontractors, vendors, and specialty consultants from design through commissioning and closeout, ensuring alignment with project budgets, schedules, and stakeholder expectations.
- Plan, schedule, and execute IT infrastructure construction projects from design through commissioning and closeout.
- Apply Apple-standard IT design and construction standards, adapting to project-specific scope and site conditions. Ensure that requirements for nominal functionality (including closet size, power and cooling) are adhered to.
- Coordinate and direct low voltage subcontractors, vendors, and specialty consultants to keep projects on schedule.
- Serve as the day-to-day liaison between construction efforts, IS&T, DAS, and Security partners and end user stakeholders, keeping all parties aligned on scope and schedule.
- Manage project decisions with cost awareness — identifying lower cost materials, methods, or scheduling approaches that don’t compromise quality or standards compliance, and flagging cost-impacting decisions to the project PM before committing.
- Communicate clearly with executive/VIP customers when projects intersect with their space or timeline — translating technical status into plain-language updates.
- Comfortable raising and resolving conflicts between IT infrastructure requirements and construction realities, escalating to project PMs when needed rather than letting issues stall.
- Minimum of 5+ years of project management experience, construction or IT integration management or similar
- Exceptional knowledge of structured cabling (copper and fiber), DAS, and/or BAS systems sufficient to make informed field decisions.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and riser diagrams
- Able to occasionally travel to project sites 5-10% for oversight and stakeholder meetings
- PMP, BICSI RCDD, or other industry-standard certification
- Working knowledge of BICSI, NEC, and TIA/EIA standards
- Industry certifications (OSHA 30 certification etc)
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Procore, or equivalent)
- Experience in enterprise/campus-scale environments
- Commissioning and QA/QC experience
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences, including executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders
