WGL - Business Analyst, Next Gen Delivery

Join AltaGas’ Next Gen Delivery team and help drive digital transformation through data analytics, intelligent automation, and AI. We’re looking for a Senior Business Analyst who can connect business needs with technology solutions, identify opportunities to improve processes, and help turn ideas into measurable business outcomes.

This is a collaborative, hands-on role for an experienced Business Analyst who is comfortable working across business and technical teams and navigating multiple initiatives in a fast-moving environment.

You Will

• Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, analyze processes and data, and identify opportunities for analytics, automation, AI, and process improvement.
• Gather and document requirements, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, and future-state processes for technology and transformation initiatives.
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to align business needs, priorities, expected value, and solution requirements.
• Own and refine requirements and backlogs for assigned delivery areas, partnering with Product Owners and delivery teams to ensure work is ready for development.
• Use Azure DevOps or similar tools to manage user stories, backlog refinement, sequencing, and sprint readiness.
• Collaborate with technology teams to assess feasibility, integration needs, and implementation requirements.
• Develop business cases for automation and AI opportunities, defining expected value through measures such as hours saved, new capabilities, or processes improved.
• Support project financial tracking, including capital versus O&M/expense costs and accruals.

You Have

• 5–7+ years of Business Analyst experience, with a strong background in requirements gathering, process analysis, and stakeholder management.
• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience supporting data, analytics, intelligent automation, AI, software, or application development initiatives.
• Experience working within Agile environments, including Scrum or Kanban, and managing backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or similar delivery tools.
• Familiarity with workflow automation technologies and an understanding of Agentic AI or machine learning concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, process mapping, documentation, and communication skills.
• The ability to influence stakeholders, facilitate cross-functional discussions, and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
• Experience with data governance, compliance, or regulatory reporting is an asset.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range of $95,400. - $ 135,425 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
