Senior Embedded Platform Engineer (m/f/d)

Title: Senior Embedded Platform Engineer (m/f/d) Location: Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg

At Alpine Eagle, we are building the future of counter-drone defence. As a fast-growing and internationally successful deep tech company, we specialise in aerospace engineering, defence systems, and machine learning — developing the world’s first swarm-based, airborne counter-drone system.

Modern conflicts have made one thing clear: drones are changing the face of warfare. From critical infrastructure to frontline defence, the threats are escalating — and current solutions are falling behind: Our mission is to change that effectively.

By combining cutting-edge AI with aerospace-grade engineering, we’re giving democracies and institutions committed to the rule of law the technological edge they need to protect themselves in the 21st century.

Alpine Eagle is more than a defence company — it's a call to action. With an international team of experts, a strong financial foundation, and a bold vision for the future, we’re looking for people who want to help shape the next generation of aerial security systems — and build something that truly matters.

We want to reinforce a culture where great ideas can flourish, and great people collaborate. Help us growing and succeeding!

🎯 How you will make an impact:

Your mission: Develop and maintain the embedded software foundation for a distributed counter-UAS (C-UAS) system, enabling reliable, secure and scalable deployment of software across heterogeneous devices.

• Develop and maintain embedded operating system configurations, device abstractions and common system services.
• Implement secure device provisioning, identity and key management, access control, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
• Establish common runtime, deployment, diagnostics and recovery mechanisms.
• Define stable interfaces that allow domain teams to deploy their software without needing to manage underlying platform complexity.
• Ensure reliability, maintainability and security across the device lifecycle.

✅ What you need to be successful:

• Strong experience in embedded Linux or comparable embedded operating systems.
• Experience with device lifecycle management, software deployment and system-level debugging.
• Knowledge of embedded security, networking and secure update mechanisms.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python or relevant systems programming languages.
• Experience working with hardware-dependent and distributed software systems.

At Alpine Eagle, you're not just taking a job — you're joining a mission.
