About Advision Development

AdVision Development powers two leading affiliate sites in the sports betting/igaming space: OddsTrader (OT) and BookMakers Review (BMR). We are data-driven, user-focused, and driven by a shared mission to create the best content and tools for sports bettors. We move fast, play to win, and value autonomy, curiosity, and teamwork.

What We Value

Mission Alignment: Understand and embrace our goals; seek clarity when needed.
Execution-First Mindset: You know what inputs drive results and you act on them proactively.
Self-Starter Energy: You're the driver of your roadmap, checking in but not waiting to be told what to do.
Collaborative Spirit: You bring generosity and curiosity to team efforts and make those around you better.
User Obsession: You constantly think from the user’s POV and seek ways to better serve our audience.
Problem Solving: You exhaust potential solutions before escalating, and come prepared with what you've tried.
Candor and Clarity: Clear, respectful communication is the norm; feedback is direct, but delivered with care.
Competitive Drive: You want to win and are motivated to beat your best.

About the Role:

As our first dedicated DevOps / Platform Engineer, you will own our cloud infrastructure. This is a greenfield role focused on building secure, reliable, and automated systems from the ground up. You will be responsible for moving our operations from a reactive to a proactive state, directly enabling our development team to deliver value faster and more safely.

What You'll Do:

Own, manage, and optimize our cloud infrastructure on AWS.
Design and implement an infrastructure security strategy, including vulnerability scanning and access controls.
Establish and automate our system update and software patching processes.
Develop a monitoring, logging, and alerting system to proactively identify and address issues.
Lead our incident response process and conduct blameless post-mortems to drive improvements.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to improve our development lifecycle.

What We're Looking For:

Core Skills:
- Strong, hands-on experience managing production environments in AWS (EC2, S3, EKS, VPC, IAM).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, Go).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
Work Style:
- You are comfortable with high levels of ownership and autonomy.
- You prioritize simple, robust solutions over unnecessarily complex ones.
- You focus on building automated and preventative systems to minimize future incidents.
- You can clearly communicate technical concepts and trade-offs to the team.

Nice to Have:

An interest in American sports or sports betting is a plus, as it provides context for our user-focused environment.

Why Join Us?

High Impact: Your work will directly affect the company's stability and technical capabilities.
Autonomy: You will have the authority to define and execute our infrastructure strategy.

Greenfield Role: Build our platform from an early stage without legacy constraints.
