Dir Software Engineering

ADP is hiring a Director, Finance Systems within our Global Enterprise Technology & Solutions organization.

This is a technology and business leadership role responsible for the delivery, optimization, and operational support of the company’s financial applications ecosystem. This role supports core finance platforms—including Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), Oracle Fusion Finance (Oracle Cloud ERP), SAP Concur, and SAP Ariba—while helping drive process improvements through automation and digital capabilities.

The leader partners with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, and IT to improve processes, strengthen data quality and controls, and enhance the effectiveness of finance systems.

In this role, the Director will help support strategic planning, operating planning, and forecasting processes at the consolidated level. This is a People Leader role and will support Finance teams with systems-related insights and analytics, while helping drive operational efficiencies across the global Finance organization.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: Responsibilities

Finance Systems Leadership

• Lead configuration, integrations, enhancements, and ongoing support across finance platforms
• Help ensure system reliability, SOX compliance, financial close support, and effective end-to-end processes
• Support vendor relationships, renewals, licensing, and product roadmap discussions

Automation & Digital Enablement

• Support the use of automation to improve reconciliation, AP processes, forecasting, and compliance monitoring
• Partner with technical and data teams to identify opportunities for workflow automation and improved user support
• Help implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, controls, and data accuracy

Transformation & Program Support

• Support finance systems transformation initiatives, including ERP modernization efforts
• Partner on project delivery, testing, change management, and stakeholder communications
• Help drive process optimization, self-service capabilities, and digital workflows across Finance and Procurement
• Ensure systems align with audit, risk, security, and regulatory requirements

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop a team of financial systems professionals, including managers, analysts, and support resources
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence
• Support budgeting, resource planning, vendor coordination, and team performance management

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Controllers, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, and Audit to deliver scalable and compliant solutions
• Work closely with IT infrastructure, security, and data teams to support integrations, performance, and data governance
• Communicate clearly with senior leaders and stakeholders to maintain alignment across priorities

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Requirements

• This is a hybrid role (3 days in the office minimum). Qualified candidates will sit in our Roseland, NJ office.
• 8–10+ years of experience in financial systems, enterprise applications, or finance technology
• Experience with Oracle Financials, including Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and/or Oracle Fusion Finance (Cloud ERP)
• Strong knowledge of core finance modules such as GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash Management, Tax, and SLA
• Experience with procurement applications, including SAP or equivalent tools
• Experience leading cross-functional projects, systems implementations, or operational improvements
• Solid understanding of accounting processes, financial close cycles, and SOX/internal controls
• Experience supporting automation, workflow improvements, or digital transformation initiatives in finance operations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

BONUS POINTS FOR THESE: 

• MBA, Master’s in Finance, or participation in a Finance Leadership Development Program
• Certifications such as CPA, CMA, Oracle Cloud Financials, PMP, or Agile
• Strong understanding of financial close, consolidation, reporting, and performance analytics
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and levels of the organization
• Experience supporting vendor discussions, business partnerships, and cross-functional decision-making
• Experience with SAP Concur (Expense Management)
• Experience with SAP Ariba, including Procure-to-Pay and Supplier Management
• Familiarity with AI platforms, intelligent document processing (IDP), and workflow orchestration tools
• Experience with data visualization, analytics tools, and data lake or warehouse integrations
• Experience supporting or overseeing modules such as:
