This position reports to:
Industries and Channel Marketing Manager__
As a Strategic Marketing Manager this candidate will lead market‑driven growth initiatives for the U.S. semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries. This role is responsible for defining and activating strategic marketing programs aligned with ABB Electrification’s strategy, positioning ABB as a trusted technology partner.
This is a cross‑functional role working closely with commercial, communications, product, marketing, strategy, and external industry stakeholders. Success in this role requires market insight, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate business strategy into impactful marketing execution and storytelling.
The work model for the role is: Remote/Hybrid work model.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing & Planning
Develop and execute segment‑specific marketing strategies for these advanced manufacturing industries, aligned with ABB Electrification strategic priorities.
Analyze customer challenges, buying drivers, and decision‑making processes to inform market positioning, value propositions, and messaging.
Translate long‑term business strategy into go‑to‑market and campaign strategies with clear objectives and success metrics.
Market & Competitive Intelligence
Provide actionable market and competitive intelligence, including customer needs, technology trends, regulatory considerations, and competitor strategies.
Identify emerging market segments, adjacent market opportunities, and applications within these sectors
Support strategic decision‑making through data‑driven insights and recommendations.
Marketing Activation & Campaign Execution
Plan, develop, and lead execution of integrated marketing campaigns.
Partner with commercial and product teams to identify new business opportunities and support segment‑based marketing initiatives.
Develop compelling messaging frameworks and content requirements that articulate ABB’s value across industry lifecycle.
Ensure consistent positioning across digital, events, content, and partner channels.
Industry Engagement & Thought Leadership
Along with segment leaders, represent ABB within key industry organizations at regional and national levels.
Position ABB as a thought leader through speaking engagements, panels, white papers, and industry collaboration.
Actively participate in and support priority trade events, conferences, and customer forums to strengthen ABB’s market presence.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
12+ years of experience in electrification, power, digital infrastructure, or related industries, with experience in marketing, product management, segment leadership, or sales.
Proven expertise in marketing strategy, market intelligence, customer experience, and campaign development/execution. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple functions and influence without direct authority.
Exhibits a high say/do ratio—sets clear commitments and delivers results with consistency and credibility.
Ability to travel up to 30% within the U.S.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate across all levels; Ability to edit and refine documents/ communications is highly preferred.
Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams is essential. Track record of work in fast paced and dynamic business environment; Curiosity, a commitment to follow through and excellent problem- solving skills are essential to success.
