Middle OMEN Solution Specialist
Position Summary
3GIMBALS is seeking a curious, resourceful analyst and researcher to join our OMEN™ team. The OMEN Solution Specialist explores complex questions, discovers relevant information across diverse sources, and brings that information together in OMEN to uncover relationships, patterns, and insights that may not otherwise be apparent.
This is a role for someone who enjoys the hunt. One day may involve tracing a person or organization across social media and public records; another may involve geolocating an image, exploring a financial or organizational network, evaluating a new dataset, or helping determine how OMEN can better support an analytic workflow.
OMEN serves as the central platform for bringing these discoveries together for analysis and collaboration. Solution Specialists also work closely with our development team, using their experience as analysts to help identify new data sources, capabilities, and improvements to the platform.
Formal intelligence experience is valuable but not required. Relevant experience may come from professional, military, government, academic, or independent research environments. Depending on location and mission requirements, the position may include regular customer interaction or periodic travel to support meetings, demonstrations, and analytic activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Research complex mission questions using Publicly Available Information (PAI), Commercially Available Information (CAI), Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), Social Media Intelligence (SOCMINT), and other relevant sources and disciplines.
- Bring data and discoveries into OMEN™ to identify and analyze entities, relationships, patterns, activities, and anomalies across disparate sources.
- Apply creative and structured research techniques while assessing the reliability, relevance, context, and significance of information.
- Contribute findings, analysis, visualizations, and supporting research to analytic products and customer deliverables.
- Explore specialized research areas such as social media, geospatial analysis, media verification and forensics, and Counter-Threat Finance (CTF) based on mission needs.
- Partner with analysts, subject matter experts, and developers to explore new data sources and analytic approaches, improve workflows, and help shape future OMEN capabilities.
- Communicate and document findings clearly and support customer discussions, demonstrations, and briefings as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 1–5 years of relevant research, analytic, intelligence, investigative, or related experience, including qualifying academic or independent research experience.
- Strong research and analytic skills with the ability to work through incomplete or ambiguous information, evaluate sources, identify meaningful connections, and develop well-supported findings.
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and investigative mindset, including a willingness to pursue new leads, ask effective follow-on questions, and explore unfamiliar subjects, tools, and data sources.
- Ability to learn and effectively use new research methodologies, analytic tools, datasets, and technologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain research methods, findings, and analytic judgments clearly.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
We are interested in candidates who bring experience in one or more of the following areas. Expertise across every area is not expected:
- Social media discovery and analysis, link/network analysis, or investigative research.
- Media verification and forensics, including reverse-image search, geolocation, chronolocation, metadata analysis, image/video verification, or synthetic/deepfake media detection.
- CTF, financial-network research, or related analytic work.
- Geospatial tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth, or similar technologies.
- Experience using Python, SQL, APIs, JSON, or similar tools for scripting, data manipulation, or research.
- Dark web research or experience working with difficult-to-access online information.
- Foreign-language proficiency applicable to research or analytic missions.
- Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, law enforcement, national security, or other mission-focused customers.
- Active U.S. Government security clearance.
What Success Looks Like
Strong Solution Specialists are naturally curious and persistent. Faced with an incomplete question, they want to know what else is out there, where to look next, whether the information can be trusted, and what connections may be hiding across different sources.
Success means turning that curiosity into disciplined research and useful analysis. It means bringing discoveries into OMEN so others can build on them, communicating what matters and why, and recognizing opportunities for new data, tools, and capabilities that can make both the analysis and the platform better.
