This individual-contributor role sets the technical direction for architects and engineers while remaining hands-on in prototyping and validating patterns before enterprise adoption. Responsibilities of the Role: Define and maintain the enterprise architecture roadmap, and publish reference architectures and blueprints for agent orchestration, identity, gateway and policy services, and model-hosting and agent-runtime environments. Lead agentic infrastructure decisions across programs, products, and platforms, advising senior technology and business leaders and resolving escalations involving enterprise risk, cost, or cross-domain tradeoffs. Establish architecture standards and review criteria for the security, resilience, observability, performance, and cost management of agentic infrastructure, aligned with enterprise technology, risk, and financial objectives. Lead the architecture of complex, multi-domain agentic initiatives, documenting technical decisions, dependencies, tradeoffs, and their effects on business, risk, and cost outcomes. Build working prototypes and reference implementations to validate emerging agentic infrastructure patterns, document their constraints, and establish the criteria delivery teams must meet for production use. Define operational readiness and lifecycle requirements for shared agentic infrastructure patterns, including support ownership, resilience, observability, versioning, compatibility, and deprecation. Guide platform, security, and infrastructure engineering teams in adopting shared agentic infrastructure patterns and modules that reduce duplicated engineering and accelerate delivery. Mentor architects and infrastructure engineers through architecture reviews, technical guidance, and reusable examples appropriate to their delivery context. Evaluate emerging agentic AI and generative AI infrastructure technologies, and publish recommendations based on technical validation, security and operational risk, cost, integration complexity, and long-term maintainability. Requirements of the Role: Experience owning architecture decisions for complex infrastructure initiatives spanning multiple technical domains, delivery teams, or business areas at enterprise or portfolio scale. Hands-on experience designing or validating infrastructure for agentic artificial intelligence platforms, with depth in several of the following areas: agent orchestration, workload identity, gateways, policy enforcement, model hosting, or agent-runtime environments. Broad infrastructure architecture experience with technical depth in one or more domains such as cloud platforms, security and identity, networking, compute, or platform engineering. Experience building prototypes or reference implementations and translating validated findings into reference architectures, reusable patterns, and production-readiness criteria. Ability to apply continuous integration and continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, configuration management, automated testing, and observability practices to infrastructure architecture and reference implementations. Ability to explain architecture decisions, alternatives, dependencies, and tradeoffs to engineering teams, architects, senior leaders, and executives; align stakeholders across organizational boundaries; and mentor senior technical practitioners. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
