Short Summary:
Wise is a global technology company focused on building the best way to move and manage money. The Pricing Core team is looking for a passionate Backend Software Engineer to help maintain and develop the main pricing platform, processing over 100 million requests daily.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services in Java using Spring Boot on AWS.
- Build and maintain event-driven architectures with Apache Kafka for financial events.
- Drive architectural decisions ensuring quality, reliability, and observability.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and technical debt.
- Participate in on-call rotations for production incidents.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and security.
Requirement:
- Strong background in software engineering with significant contributions to large projects.
- Experience with Java or similar OOP languages.
- Ability to design for long-term iteration and scale.
- Product mindset with the ability to work on complex problems.
- Great communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in pricing systems or payments is a plus.
