Short Summary:
As a Detection Engineering Specialist at Ubisoft Montréal, you will help evolve our detection engineering capabilities through automation, cloud technologies, and Detection-as-Code practices.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate log sources, telemetry feeds, and enrichment data to assess detection quality and coverage
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain detection rules, frameworks, and supporting technologies
- Contribute to the adoption of Detection-as-Code practices using version control and modern development workflows
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate validation, testing, deployment, and lifecycle management of detection content
- Build integrations and workflows using APIs, SIEM platforms, EDR solutions, cloud services, and data repositories
- Create automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks
- Collaborate with Security Operations and Incident Response teams to improve detection coverage and investigation workflows
- Develop reusable tooling, libraries, and frameworks that support detection engineering initiatives
- Apply secure coding practices, testing strategies, and quality controls throughout the engineering lifecycle
- Research emerging technologies and contribute to infrastructure automation and platform engineering initiatives
Requirement:
- Experience in software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, or automation-focused roles
- Use Git-based workflows and source control management practices
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Program or script using languages such as Python, Go, PowerShell, or JavaScript
- Integrate platforms and services through APIs
- Apply software development best practices, testing methodologies, and secure coding principles
- Work with cloud platforms, containerized environments, and infrastructure technologies
- Communicate technical concepts clearly with both technical and non-technical collaborators
- Approach complex technical problems with a collaborative and practical mindset
- Adapt to evolving technologies and continuously improve processes and systems
