Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive People & Culture Generalist. The P&C Generalist plays a key role within the P&C support team, partnering across the business to deliver a positive and seamless employee experience. This role supports the full employee lifecycle from recruitment through to offboarding ensuring P&C processes run smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with business goals. Working as a trusted point of contact for managers and employees, this role contributes to recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, and performance management to ensure compliance with Australian employment law and internal policies. Additionally, the role involves assisting with maintaining HRIS and accurate employee records. 

Responsibilities:

• Act as a primary point of contact regarding P&C related inquiries. Monitor and respond to queries within shared email inboxes. 
• Assist in the management of recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding process. 
• Monitor and track completion of activities such as induction programs and probation reviews, and employment offers/employee changes. 
• Draft, review, and manage employee contracts, letters, and position descriptions (PDs). 
• Maintain/ Update the HRIS with accurate and timely employee records in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements. 
• Coordinate and facilitate training and development programs. 
• Ensure all policies, procedures, and practices are effectively implemented and consistently applied.  
• Monitor legislative changes and ensure that employment and working conditions are compliant. 
• Participate in cross-functional P&C projects such as engagement surveys, policy audits, or diversity and inclusion initiatives. 
• Provide guidance and support on the Performance Review process and professional learning plans for staff. 
• In conjunction with relevant managers and staff, provide support with any employee grievances or complaints and disciplinary matters.  
• Prepare reports, presentations, statistical analysis, and other documents as required or requested. 
• Assist in general P&C tasks like travel arrangements, co-ordination of meetings and provide general administrative support to the People and Culture Manager. 
• Coordinate the collection and verification of employee records, ensuring all information is accurately communicated to payroll team. 
• Provide support with incident reporting, injury management, WorkCover lodgements, and return-to-work coordination. 
• Model and demonstrate constructive working relationships and information exchange across the organisation. 
• Support the broader People& Culture team as required, including coverage for leave and workload support. 
• Other duties consistent with the position where required and/or requested by the People & Culture Manager. 
• Perform monthly workforce reporting as required. 

Governance

• Ensure all activities conform with relevant government regulations, company policies, standards and ethics.
• Identify opportunities for improvement of work practices and processes.

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or a related discipline. 
• 4-5 years’ experience in a similar Generalist role, with a strong understanding of 
• HR/Payroll practices and processes.
• Exposure to Modern Awards and basic industrial relations concepts. 
• Strong administration, verbal, and written communication skills with excellent 
• attention to detail and passion for delivering work to a high standard. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff at all 
• levels. 
• Strong organisational and time management skills including the ability to manage 
• competing and/or changing priorities and deliver to deadlines. 
• Proficiency with HRIS and MS Office suite.  
• Ability to adapt to and support the organisation’s unique work culture. 
• Strong understanding of confidentiality and professionalism in HR functions.
