Short Summary:
Samsara is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help improve the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of operations that power the global economy. The role involves building new systems from scratch and working with a large dataset to create impactful products.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of technically complex, mission-critical areas.
- Define and drive technical strategy for new products and platform capabilities.
- Design and ship full-stack features end to end.
- Partner with product, design, and customer-facing teams to translate real-world problems into technical plans.
- Build and scale systems behind AI-driven products.
- Raise the bar for engineers through code reviews and mentorship.
- Champion Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales.
Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in software design and development.
- Strong full-stack fundamentals and proficiency in modern languages and frameworks (Go, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, React, etc.).
- Experience leading cross-team projects and building AI-powered products.
- Strong communication skills and a track record of building zero-to-one products.
