Short Summary:
Join Roche’s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development (pRED) organization as a Principal Scientist in the Immunology Department, focusing on innovative treatments for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Responsibilities:
- Lead innovative initiatives to understand COPD pathobiology and identify novel drug targets.
- Direct and oversee complex preclinical experimental studies for target validation and characterization.
- Bring targets into the early drug discovery pipeline and lead multidisciplinary teams to clinical candidate generation.
- Evaluate external opportunities and communicate findings to senior management.
- Manage and mentor junior scientists and postdocs.
Requirement:
- PhD in Life Sciences (respiratory biology, cellular/molecular biology, pharmacology, immunology, or related field).
- 5 to 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Deep expertise in COPD disease biology, including chronic tissue remodeling and inflammation.
- Significant scientific accomplishments with publications in high-impact journals.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Good understanding of pharmacological properties of therapeutic modalities.
- Effective communication of scientific data to colleagues and management.
