Ride the Lion Studios is an independent game development studio working on Tamer: King of Dinosaurs, an Early Access project developed in Unreal Engine 4.27.2. The studio is looking for a Technical Artist who enjoys solving creative problems, building polished gameplay experiences, and collaborating with designers, programmers, and artists. The project contains adult content, so applicants must be at least 18 years old and comfortable working with mature material.
🚀 Responsibilities
• Create high-quality combat particle effects and visual effects
• Build optimized visual effects for surreal environments
• Create energy fields, psychic landscapes, and abstract environments
• Develop gameplay systems for a fort construction module
• Implement wood chopping and environmental object interactions
• Build technical systems for a cooking minigame
• Create dynamic material effects including browning, burning, and colour transitions
• Implement physics-driven gameplay systems
• Develop siege weapon and corpse launching mechanics
• Create animation sequences using Sequencer
• Implement scripted dinosaur interactions with environmental objects
• Build gameplay-focused minigames in Unreal Engine
• Collaborate with programmers to integrate systems
• Maintain project performance and stability
📚 Required Skills
• At least 2 years of professional experience as a Technical Artist
• Strong experience with Unreal Engine 4
• Working knowledge of Blueprints
• Experience using Unreal Engine Levels and Sequencer
• Strong understanding of optimisation and performance
• Experience creating particle systems and gameplay visual effects
• Knowledge of shaders and materials
• Experience with Perforce or Git
• Solid written and spoken English
• Strong portfolio demonstrating technical abilities
• Detailed résumé describing previous projects
• Professional attitude and reliability
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team
• Willingness to work with adult content
👍 Nice to Have
• At least 4 years of professional Technical Artist experience
• Experience working on shipped commercial games
• Experience with games released on Steam, consoles, or other marketplaces
• Experience implementing gameplay systems
• Experience creating physics-driven mechanics
• Availability in European or Asian time zones
