Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, business experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services. <br><br>Overview <br><br>The German Services Business Development team is looking for a Business Development Manager, Acquiring & Public Sector to further grow and expand our footprint across the Acquiring, Payments, and Public Sector sectors in Germany. <br><br>Role <br><br>Responsible for driving the growth of Mastercard's Services business across strategic Acquiring, Payments, and Public Sector target accounts by identifying new revenue opportunities, building executive-level relationships, and commercializing innovative services and solutions. Acts as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, helping them accelerate growth through Consulting, Data & Analytics, Digital Transformation, Customer Insights, and broader value-added services capabilities. <br><br>Key responsibilities include: <br><br>• Develop and execute a growth strategy across a prospect portfolio of Acquiring, Payments, and Public Sector clients, with accountability for revenue, pipeline, and new business generation <br><br>• Identify, originate, and convert new business opportunities through proactive client engagement and consultative selling <br><br>• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, including C-suite, commercial, digital transformation, data, payments, and public sector leaders <br><br>• Position Mastercard as a strategic growth partner by leveraging the full Services portfolio, with a particular focus on Consulting, Data & Analytics, and value-added services <br><br>• Lead complex commercial discussions and negotiate enterprise-wide agreements across multiple stakeholder groups <br><br>• Drive cross- and upselling initiatives to maximise client value, deepen relationships, and accelerate long-term account growth <br><br>• Collaborate closely with Product, Consulting, Customer Success, Specialist Sales, and Account Management teams to deliver measurable business outcomes for clients <br><br>• Translate client challenges into commercially viable solutions that generate tangible and quantifiable business impact <br><br>• Continuously expand market presence, strengthen industry networks, and identify emerging growth opportunities across the Acquiring, Payments, and Public Sector ecosystem <br><br>The ideal candidate has: <br><br>• Deep expertise in driving growth across Acquiring, Payments, Merchant Services, PSP, Fintech, or Public Sector clients through consultative selling of data-driven, technology, analytics, or transformation solutions <br><br>• Strong hunter mentality with a proven ability to create demand, unlock new opportunities, and build executive-level relationships within complex enterprise environments <br><br>• Experience commercializing Consulting, Data & Analytics, Digital Transformation, Customer Insights, or related value-added solutions <br><br>• Commercially astute and results-driven professional with a strong bias for execution, accountability, and delivering measurable business impact <br><br>• Track record of accelerating account growth through strategic cross-selling, upselling, and long-term value creation <br><br>• Trusted relationship builder who develops enduring client partnerships and is recognized as a go-to advisor for strategic and commercial discussions <br><br>• 7+ years of experience within acquiring, payment acceptance, merchant services, PSPs, fintechs, or adjacent payments ecosystems preferred <br><br>• Bachelor degree (post-graduate degree / MBA preferred) <br><br>• Fluency in German and English is a must <br><br>• Ability to travel frequently<h3></h3><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h3></h3><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Corporate Security Responsibility</b></p><p style="text-align:left"><br />All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must:</p><ul><li><p style="text-align:left">Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices;</p></li><li><p style="text-align:left">Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed;</p></li><li><p style="text-align:left">Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and</p></li><li><p style="text-align:left">Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.</p></li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><br /><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><br /><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><br /><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>
