Short Summary:
Loft Orbital is seeking an experienced Buyer to support engineering teams by sourcing and procuring materials, equipment, and services, ensuring production and launch deadlines are met. This role will involve procurement, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
Responsibilities:
- Source and procure materials, hardware, and services.
- Lead subcontracting efforts, including preparation, negotiation, and management of purchase orders and contracts.
- Negotiate with suppliers for optimal pricing and terms.
- Oversee inventory levels and develop procurement strategies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards.
- Improve procurement and subcontracting processes.
- Manage purchase orders and contracts.
- Resolve conflicts with suppliers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement with production schedules.
- Track purchasing activity and report on spending.
- Coordinate logistics for deliveries.
Requirement:
- 5-10 years of experience in procurement in a high tech, hardware-focused industry.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles and excellent negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and procurement software.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
