Short Summary:
The Data Center Electrician is responsible for overseeing and executing complex electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance, requiring advanced knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and components, including wiring, circuit breakers, outlets, and lighting systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure system functionality.
- Plan and manage electrical projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating with other trades and contractors.
- Conduct extensive work on pad mounted transformers (PMTs) including Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) Test prep, IR scans, ensuring proper torquing standards are met.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
- Work closely with operations staff and facility managers to optimize repairs and maintenance efforts.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues in commercial and industrial settings.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including inspections, repairs, and installations.
- Be an on-call electrician for all facilities, 24/7.
Requirement:
- Extensive experience and certifications in safely installing and maintaining LV/MV electrical systems and components.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Texas Apprentice Electrician License or higher, or a valid Journeyman Electrician License from a state with reciprocity recognized by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
- 3-5 years of electrical experience.
- Completion of an electrician program at a technical or trade school preferred.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to multitask.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Must pass a motor vehicle check and have reliable transportation.
