Short Summary:
Hut 8 is seeking a New Customer Project Manager to oversee customer-facing project management from lease execution through Ready for Service (RFS). The role involves collaboration with various teams and managing the development, construction, commissioning, and delivery of data center projects.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the customer's primary point of contact for all design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and delivery matters through RFS.
- Act as the day-to-day integrator across the customer, internal Hut 8 teams, and the general contractor.
- Maintain ground-level knowledge of the project by working directly with Hut 8 and contractor engineering and construction teams.
- Own customer-initiated change requests end to end, including intake, clarification, technical scoping, and implementation tracking.
- Evaluate and communicate the downstream effects of proposed changes on cost, schedule, design, and contractual commitments.
- Ensure change orders and customer requests follow established processes and escalate deviations as necessary.
- Provide regular updates to the customer on design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and risks.
- Prepare for and lead recurring customer project meetings, maintaining action logs and decision records.
- Identify and escalate issues that could affect RFS, customer expectations, or project economics.
- Coordinate project closeout and formal handoff to Asset Management at RFS.
Requirement:
- 5–10 years of experience in project management, construction management, or customer delivery within data center, energy, or industrial infrastructure environments.
- Strong working knowledge of EPC and general contractor processes.
- Ability to communicate clearly at the executive level while managing details with engineering and construction teams.
- Experience assessing and communicating the impacts of proposed project changes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple timelines and workstreams.
- Proactive in identifying risks and driving cross-functional resolution.
- Familiarity with data center leases, EPC agreements, and change orders preferred.
