Senior Motion Video Designer

We're looking for a Senior Motion & AI Video Designer who can take campaign concepts from idea to polished, performance-ready video, raising the quality of Groupon's motion output across digital channels and working in an AI-first way at every step.

You'll turn briefs into strong video ideas and produce high-quality motion assets at speed and scale, pairing generative AI video with real motion craft to deliver more, faster, without compromising quality. It's a chance to define what AI-first video looks like for a global marketplace brand.

As a senior contributor on the video team, you'll concept and produce video across paid and owned channels, push our AI video pipeline forward, and uphold our visual identity in every frame. You'll work hands-on and independently, combining AI tools with industry-standard motion tools to set the bar for what our video creative can be.

💻 What You'll Do

Lead AI-First Video Production

• Use generative AI video tools as your primary production engine for concepting, generation, and iteration, not as an afterthought.
• Build and refine AI-driven video workflows and pipelines that multiply the team's output while protecting quality and brand consistency.
• Apply strong quality control and creative judgment to AI outputs: knowing what to keep, what to fix, and what to redo.
• Stay ahead of the latest AI video models, techniques and tools, testing new releases and bringing what works into production.

Craft High-Quality Motion

• Turn marketing briefs into clear video ideas and deliver them as polished, on-brand motion assets, from concept to final files.
• Design and animate across formats and channels: Meta, YouTube, CTV, App Store, display and owned channels.
• Bring real motion design fundamentals — timing, typography in motion, composition, sound awareness — so AI-generated footage becomes finished, branded creative.
• Act as a guardian of Groupon's visual identity in motion, applying brand guidelines consistently and adapting them cleanly for local markets.

Build Performance-Driven Creative

• Create video that not only looks great but delivers measurable results in paid channels: strong hooks, clear messaging, format best practices.
• Partner with Marketing/Growth to turn insights into creative hypotheses, testing plans, and iterations.
• Capture learnings (what worked / why) to improve future creative performance.

Collaborate Across the Team

• Work closely with Brand, Marketing and fellow designers to turn briefs into strong, on-brand video.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders and contribute to a supportive, high-craft team environment.
• Share knowledge on AI video techniques and bring fresh perspectives and ideas to elevate Groupon's storytelling across diverse markets.

🎒 What You'll Bring

• 5+ years in motion design/video creative, ideally within e-commerce, marketplaces, or performance-driven environments.
• Deep, hands-on experience with generative AI video e.g. Veo, Sora, Kling, Runway, Higgsfield, Seedance, with published work that shows you can take AI output to finished, branded creative. You should be confident with these (or comparable tools) and proactive about adopting new creative technologies.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating both AI-generated video and motion design craft (concept, animation, edit). Portfolio/reel required, only candidates with a portfolio will be considered.
• Expert proficiency in Premiere, After Effects and the Adobe Creative Suite; sound design skills is a plus.
• Strong understanding of video for paid channels and what drives performance (hooks, first 3 seconds, format best practices, iteration).
• Ability to produce concepts and final assets independently and at speed, from brief to delivery.
• Available to work on a contingent worker (contract) basis, based in or able to work from Madrid.
• Assertive, independent, and reliable. Comfortable taking creative ownership from day one, with strong stakeholder communication.
