Short Summary:
The Senior Program Officer, AI and Health will support various teams at the Foundation in developing and managing investments in AI applications in health, focusing on reducing inequality in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC).
Responsibilities:
- Develop the foundation’s approach to AI and health, including investments in diagnostics, end user engagement, and decision support.
- Understand ecosystem constraints and opportunities related to AI in health.
- Identify key partners and stakeholders across technical, advocacy, government, academic, and funding spheres.
- Develop benchmarks and evaluation frameworks for AI in health.
- Map pathways for health technologies from proof-of-concept to sustainable applications.
- Lead design and execution of clinical trials for decision support tools.
- Manage a portfolio of investments and ensure funding is appropriately managed.
- Prepare documents and presentations for stakeholders related to AI in health.
- Advise program teams on investments at the intersection of AI and health.
Requirement:
- Advanced degree in computer science, data science, public health, or related field with 10+ years of experience; or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience in health and technology development/application.
- Experience in supporting the development, testing, launch, or scale-up of AI-based technology.
- Understanding of AI at a conceptual level.
- Experience with governments, NGOs, and global funders, particularly in the global South.
- Knowledge of AI landscape and digital health, particularly in Africa, India, and Latin America is an advantage.
