Short Summary:
We're hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the Semantic Layer team in Bengaluru. You'll own the health, delivery, and growth of the team behind MetricFlow, ensuring quality and momentum in one of the most important projects in the modern data stack.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and grow a team of software engineers building MetricFlow.
- Own delivery for the Semantic Layer team: planning, prioritization, execution, and predictable shipping of high-quality software.
- Partner with senior and staff engineers to set technical direction across metric definitions, query compilation, and SQL generation for multiple data warehouses.
- Steward MetricFlow as an open-source project, managing releases and engaging the community.
- Collaborate with engineering leaders to ensure MetricFlow integrates seamlessly with the dbt ecosystem.
- Drive engineering excellence in performance, reliability, and observability of metric query execution at scale.
Requirement:
- Experience managing software engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- A strong engineering foundation with experience in building and shipping production software.
- Familiarity with SQL fundamentals and analytical query engines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading in a distributed, asynchronous team environment.
