Short Summary:
A Senior Professional Engineer – Floodplain Management position is available with the City of Fort Worth’s Transportation & Public Works Department. This role involves guiding the community’s understanding of flood risk and floodplain regulations, managing the City’s Community Rating System (CRS) program, and coordinating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise or oversee the work of staff or consultant engineers.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on hydrologic and hydraulic models, construction plans, and floodplain map revisions.
- Provide development review assistance and interpret design criteria.
- Prepare flood risk awareness outreach products and the annual report for the City's participation in CRS.
- Manage contracts and projects for CTP projects, CRS, and flood risk management tasks.
- Deliver excellent written and verbal communications, including public presentations.
- Conduct site visits and investigate drainage issues.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Three (3) years of professional civil engineering experience, with two years in floodplain management or related fields.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in Texas or ability to obtain it within six months.
- Valid Texas driver's license.
