JOB SUMMARY

Prepares and cooks meals for customers.

DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: None

HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY

• Assists with daily preparations and preparation lists on daily basis.
• Cooks foodstuffs in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served.
• Prepares produce for service.
• Cuts meat.
• Follows prescribed sanitary safeguards in handling all food and cleaning all surfaces.
• Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Must be 21 years of age or older.

• Proficient in English verbal and written with the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude. Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment and maintaining a high level of professionalism with our guests and team members.
• Flexible with working various shifts, weekends, holidays, and long hours if applicable. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
• Responsible for fostering a fun environment. Responsible for being gracious to all guests and co-workers. Responsible for promoting a positive influence in the community and participating in company-sponsored events. Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to frequently push/pull or lift up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and use hands to fingers to handle or feel, reach with hand and arms, talk or hear and taste and smell. 
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a license from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission. Will require access to the racing facility.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. There may be exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke, occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places and outside weather conditions.
