Platform Engineer

<p><strong>Help us scale the backbone of HR tech in Europe.</strong><br>Bonrepublic is an HR SaaS platform that combines goals, recognition, development, and incentives to help companies motivate and retain their employees. We’re a 30-person team based in Vienna, part of the HR Works Group, and our platform is already used by companies across Europe.<br>We’re looking for an experienced backend engineer to help us reduce technical debt, boost performance, and evolve our architecture for the next stage of growth. You’ll work closely with a small, collaborative team where technical quality is valued as much as delivering features.</p> <h2 id="aufgaben">Aufgaben</h2> <ul> <li><strong>Build platform services, internal tools, and core platform capabilities:</strong> Develop and maintain platform capabilities using Python and Django, creating self-service solutions that empower development teams</li> <li><strong>Manage cloud infrastructure:</strong> Operate and optimize our AWS infrastructure, with a focus on EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), S3, SES, Lambda, and related services</li> <li><strong>Automate everything:</strong> Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and operational workflows to reduce manual work and increase reliability</li> <li><strong>Ensure reliability and performance:</strong> Implement and maintain observability systems (logging, metrics, tracing), monitor platform health, and respond to incidents</li> <li><strong>Infrastructure as Code:</strong> Manage infrastructure using Terraform, treating infrastructure as a product with the same quality standards as application code</li> <li><strong>Enable developer productivity:</strong> Create documentation, runbooks, and self-service capabilities that make development teams more autonomous and productive</li> <li><strong>Maintain security and compliance:</strong> Ensure platform security best practices, manage access controls, and support compliance requirements</li> <li><strong>Collaborate across teams:</strong> Work closely with development teams to understand their needs and continuously improve the platform</li> </ul> <h2 id="qualifikation">Qualifikation</h2> <ul> <li><strong>Solid experience:</strong> 5-8 years in software engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps roles</li> <li><strong>Software development skills:</strong> Strong coding abilities with experience in Python (Django/FastAPI knowledge is a plus, or willingness to learn it)</li> <li><strong>AWS expertise:</strong> Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly EKS, S3, SES, Lambda, and related cloud services</li> <li><strong>Kubernetes knowledge:</strong> Solid understanding of Kubernetes deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting in production environments</li> <li><strong>Infrastructure as Code:</strong> Experience with Terraform or similar tools (CloudFormation, Pulumi, …)</li> <li><strong>CI/CD proficiency:</strong> Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar tools</li> <li><strong>Containerization:</strong> Strong Docker knowledge and container orchestration experience</li> <li><strong>Observability:</strong> Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar</li> <li><strong>Agile mindset:</strong> Comfortable working in agile teams with excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus)</li> <li><strong>Continuous learning:</strong> Open to adopting new tools, patterns, and approaches</li> </ul> <h2 id="benefits">Benefits</h2> <ul> <li>Join our journey from startup success to enterprise excellence! </li> <li>The company offers the opportunity to develop services using the latest technology</li> <li>Shape the future, learn, and lead.</li> <li>The opportunity to learn the latest stacks and technologies on the job</li> <li>Benefit from the excellent expertise in the company, where top management comes together to share knowledge</li> <li>Internationally oriented company</li> </ul>
