Short Summary:
You'll be the research backbone of our health and wellness content operation — sourcing and vetting studies, evaluating scientific claims, and producing accurate, nuanced material that our audience can rely on.
Responsibilities:
- Search, review, and synthesize peer-reviewed studies, clinical trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses across health and wellness topics
- Fact-check health claims in drafted and published content, flagging inaccuracies, outdated information, or unsupported assertions
- Assess study quality — including methodology, sample size, funding sources, and publication credibility
- Write in-depth research reports as well as shorter accessible articles, summaries, and explainers for a general wellness audience
- Maintain a curated database of trusted sources, experts, institutions, and recurring reference materials for the content team
- Monitor health news cycles, emerging research, and regulatory updates to surface timely, relevant stories
- Apply responsible editorial standards around health misinformation, sensationalism, and the appropriate framing of risk and uncertainty
Requirement:
- 2–5 years of experience in health journalism, science writing, medical content, or a research-intensive content role
- Proven ability to read and critically evaluate scientific literature
- Familiarity with research databases such as PubMed, Cochrane Library, Google Scholar, or similar academic resources
- Strong writing skills across formats
- A healthy skepticism toward health trends and bias of industry funded studies
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to accuracy and editorial integrity
- Ability to manage multiple assignments independently and communicate clearly with editors and cross-functional collaborators
