Our Copywriters play an essential role in the strategy, conception, and narrative framing of breakthrough ideas, non-traditional campaigns, and intelligent brand platforms. Balancing film craft writing with sharp conceptual thinking, they bring exceptional creative thought and craft output, developing and delivering projects from initial brief to end user across diverse media touchpoints.

The Copywriter at AKQA will approach every brief with fresh eyes. Avoiding familiar formulas, they will look beyond traditional advertising to create work that is distinctive, culturally relevant, and truly remarkable. They craft exceptional copy, film scripts, and narrative frameworks with independence and direction.

Located in Berlin, Germany, as part of the AKQA team, you will work in an environment that fosters a dynamic, meritocratic culture, surrounded by some of the brightest minds at the intersection of creativity, technology, and design.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Deliver award-winning work that pushes creative boundaries, using story, interactivity, and emerging technologies to spark meaningful change.
• Create and write concepts for a diverse range of formats from rich film scripts and digital video to social activations, branded content, and non-traditional campaign ecosystems.
• Create and manage original, persuasive, conceptually compelling work for integrated campaigns and digital product experiences with light supervision.
• Consistently deliver innovative solutions and high-quality craft on time and to specification.
• Partner closely with Art Directors, Experience Designers, Creative Directors, and Strategy teams to unearth core narrative truths and build unified big ideas.
• Work alongside developers, creative technologists, project managers, and client leads to prototype and launch next-generation digital products, web platforms, and branded content ecosystems.
• Seamlessly combine strategic thinking with nuanced tone-of-voice design and sharp conceptual copy.
• Actively experiment with new creative tools, workflows, and mediums to redefine how stories are told and experienced.
• Drive high levels of internal team alignment and external client trust.
• Maintain rigorous attention to detail, nuance, and structural accuracy across all deliverables.
• Stay ahead of technological shifts, digital culture, and design developments, integrating modern techniques into day-to-day practices to elevate creative output.
• Participate in pitches and key presentations, articulating creative rationale confidently to clients and leadership.

QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS

• A compelling portfolio demonstrating high-calibre conceptual thinking, film craft writing, and non-traditional campaign execution.
• A strong balance of big-idea concepting and detailed craft copy/scriptwriting.
• Prior experience working with luxury, premium, or lifestyle brands is a plus.
• A natural drive to challenge conventions, explore non-traditional formats, and craft world-first ideas.
• Fearlessly creative, highly adaptable, and relentlessly attentive to detail.
• A strong work ethic with a commitment to pushing creative executions beyond standard advertising formulas.
• Deep curiosity about culture, story craft, and evolving communication channels.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• German language skills are a plus.
